Calls coming in at all hours from the number  800-482-3013.The messages start out that they will give you a 3 second time to deny you are the recorded name it announces! If you answer as we have you get yelled at and cursed plus insulted! They said they were trying to make me pay for my father's medications he is getting in a nursing home! He has a lot of insurance so why would there be any cost! My father is VERY ill and they even call him as late as 11 pm in a nursing home! They are calling the grandchildren at work as well and at their homes! When I asked for them to spell the company name they were calling from the man named James Alvo asked me if I had a 3rd grade education and rotting teeth sense I was from the south! This was all caught on the machine! And they also stated that they had mine and many other family members names, address, work numbers and SS numbers and would and could call whenever they pleased! He then said I should be ashamed that I wasn't paying for "the old man" to have his medicine!!! I am reporting this company to every place I can and let the machine catch these horrible people at their best! The companies name is  VENGROFF WILLIAMS AND ASSOCIATES AND THEIR TWO ADDRESSES I HAVE FOUND SO FAR ARE : 2201 Industrial Boulevard, Sarasota, Fl 34234 phone:(941) 358-2036 AND P.O. BOX 4155 SARASOTA, FL 34230 AND WEBSITE http://www.vwainc.com/index.nsf/home?openform

calls every single day and asks for someone who doesn't live here which i've told them 20+ times. told them to stop calling and even sent a certified letter threatening a lawsuit. think that scared them?......NO.  guess the law has no teeth. so, i found a program that blocks them. so simple, life is good again. They are:
    VENGROFF, WILLIAMS and ASSOCIATES.

People who are being called by this number are in collections or have a relative in collections. You people are ridiculous in your accusations about a company's practices. The offices you are speaking of are closed at 9pm EST so there's no way they can call after that time. Also, you may tell the automated system it is a wrong number, but unless you take the time to pick up the phone and advise a LIVE COLLECTOR they won't know to remove the phone number as a wrong one. Get a grip and realize they work for a living and are just trying to do their job to the best of their ability.

WTF, i suppose you work for these idiots, right? Sure the hell sounds like it. I'm sorry, but they call me every day, clear up until 11pm. so don't tell me they don't call at all hours. I have continued to answer the phone and let them know they have the wrong number, since they are calling my cell number. I don't have any idea who the person is they are wanting, it sure isn't me. First used their automated removal and then kept talking to a person and asking to be removed. Each time i am assured that they will do it, but heck no, i just received a call from them about 20 minutes ago. So, don't always assume what you don't know. There are alot of them out there that have unethical business practices, are you one of them?

If you are being called by a collection agency that is violating the Federal FDCPA, then there are several things you can do. However, the first thing that you need to do is get a copy of the Federal FDCPA, and  then you need to read it and study it. After that if you are being harassed by debt collectors who are violating the Federal FDCPA, consider contacting a consumer attorney to see if what your options are, or you can contact the Federal Trade Commission and file a complaint.

    Laughing at this company
Quite amusing how the debt collection companies come and post on these blogs now.

Not only do they try to bully you at home, on your cell, at work but they think they can bully you here on a blog where people are trying to find out why they are calling in the first place.

To the debt collectors, quit telling people to answer and resolve the issue. I can't tell you how many times I have answered the phone and a collection agency is looking for my ex wife (ex from 15 years ago) or they are callling looking for somebody that has the same name as I do. We are not obligated to help you find somebody or give you the correct information.

To the consumer. This is really easy, if you don't owe anything don't answer the phone. That is what the answering machine is for.

If you think you owe someting then check your credit report. Guess what, if there is nothing on your credit report than they are trying to collect on a debt that is very very old. Guess what? They can't put extermely old debts on your credit report. Of course they will say they can (not legally). I had this happen one time on a phone bill that was 15 years old. I had filed this debt on a bankrupcy but rather than call the collection agency and fax them the bankruptcy papers, I disputed the date of the debt. You see creditors will charge off or write off the debt, they will then sell the debt to one of these agencies, years later the collection agency will file it on your credit report like it's some type of new debt. Sound like double jeporady doesn't it. Well guess what, you can disput the orginal date of the debt and if it's past 7 years or in some cases 10 years, the credit reporting agencies will remove it from your report. It's free to disput a debt.

How do I know all this? It took a long time to get on my feet after filing bankruptcy 15 years ago. I know this much, I have been responsible with paying my bills every since. So when a collection company calls, I dont answer the phone. They don't care if your obligated to pay the debt anymore. They hope that by threatening you that you will pay for something you don't even have ot pay for. After all, they are in business to make money and the only way to get it is if you pay.

    Just my thoughts.

I don't know if it's this company or not but they've started somehow showing another company/individual name/number on the caller id flash that shows on your television through U-verse. One call came through showing the call coming from the only phone in my house, it was MY number. Watch out, they're getting sneakier yet.
This morning I received a call and my husband answered. When he came to get me and I returned to the phone, they'd hung up. Must not have wanted to take to me too badly.

Got a call from 800-482-3013 today, and after I picked up I stayed quiet and I couldn't hear anything. Then I simply said Hello and once again nothing, so I hung up.
