I received a letter from these guys saying I have a Current balance of $154.98. Then they will discount it to $361.62 but to send them 154.98.The letter says the debt is from CREDIT AMERICA. I Have never had an account with this company. I call these guys to find out where this debt originated and all they can say is "we do not have that information."

Lady calls 2 to 3 times per day. She asks for Thomas Cooper, if you continue to listen to this call you are admitting your are Thomas Cooper. Then she says if you are Thomas Cooper do not listen to this call in the presence of others. She states the call is a collection call. She states her name is Nesa Lee and to call the 800 number.
I called the 800-525-8022 number, they say Thomas Cooper is giving people my home phone number as his contact number. The said they would mark my number as a bad number. Their name is Asset Acceptance. I recorded the conversation for the  Kentucky Bureau of Investigation.

They continue calling my husband about a SPRINT bill that he does NOT owe. The bill is 7 years old. We keep requesting written information, but we never receive anything. Isn't that odd...

Well, Ok...for all you guys out there TRYING to avoid your debt, guess what, you cant! I work for a collection agency and know for a fact that a debt doesnt go away unless its paid. Why not pay for what you owe? Why STEAL mechandise? Thats basically what your doing when you get a credit card spend the money and never pay it back or get something on credit and never pay it back. Come on people, PAY YOUR BILLS! Stop trying to fight paying what you think you can get away with. Because of people like this, the ecomony is the way it is. Then debtors want to complain the economy is in a slum........I wonder why? PROUD EMPLOYEE OF ASSET ACCEPTANCE!

Recieved a call saying I owed $2000.00 for a Radio Shack bill. I had a Radio Shack card w/a $300.00 limit and bought 1 item on it for $175.00. My records indicate I paid it off and closed account almost 4 years ago (lucky I didn't delete it). I asked for an account history to compare w/ my records and I was told they do not provide an account history. I asked how I can owe $2000.00 on a $300.00 limit card and was told it was due to late fees and over the limit fees. How would they know that if they don't have an account history? They also told me that my personel records do not mean anything as they can't be verified.

I got the same exact problem. I have never had an account with Sprint and Asset Acceptance will not provide any contact at Sprint. They say I owe $842.00. It's been on my credit record for 8 years. I sent Asset Acceptance a certified letter with instructions in accordance with Federal Law 2 years ago with no response. I even have the return receipt signed by them.

The animated/computerized voice relentlessly calls to leave messages for "Walter Brown".  Each message states "If you are not Walter Brown" do not listen further, if you are Walter Brown continue to listen....

I called the the 800 number back 15 times to attempt to resolve this issue since there is no Walter Brown in 60 years at this residential [phone number and the calls were frightful to the 80 years olds who were listening to the messages in fear and could not understand what was going on with the continuing harrassing and intimidating messages for Walter Brown, who they did not know.

Each person who answered the 800 number claimed to be "Asset Debt Collectors" and all but one refused to provide company information such as address or a supervisor to discuss resolution.

When I advised them that the private phone number they were calling is in error, they only became more insistant and hostile demanding they needed more personal and private information, such as social security number, to end the calls.

Each one refused to search for the Walter Brown they were calling in Warren, Michigan.

I received a call from this number, asking for me at my place of work.  I told the caller I was not available to talk and they needed to correspond with me by mail.  They were unable to explain why they were calling me.
