i got this # from HSBC bank

SCAM ALERT!!

okay. i just got a call from "6110" and they left a message saying they were HSBC fraud detection department and to call back this number 800-528-0694.  they gave me a reference number as well.

i called hsbc customer service myself (not the number they left on the message) and they did not find any record of the fraud department trying to contact me from any of my HSBC accounts. I told them about the call i received and provided the reference number.   HSBC said they did not make the call, nor was the reference number given to me valid.  So i think this is a SCAM.

I just got a voicemail to call this number at 6:30 on a Sat. night. It also gave a reference number. Howeverr before I called the number I checked the fraud protection part of the HSBC website. The website says that do NOT give personal information on a call that you do not initiate . It also says that HSBC will never ask for password information on the phone.

Good thing I checked because when I returned the call the man on the line refused to give me any information about the alleged suspicious transaction  unless I answered my security questions---exactly what the HSBC website says I should not do.

This number is a SCAM. DO NOT GIVE ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION TO THIS PEOPLE.

I also got a call from this number 800-528-0694 that showed up as a "3267" on my phone.  Was suspicious about it and looked online to see if there were any active scams and glad to get advice from others who had this experience.  I checked with HSBC and no suspicious transactions have appeared on my account.  Clearly a phishing scam.

I was also called from a number 3265 and told it was hsbc given a refference number and told to call back

This was a legit number not a scam. It was HSBC fraud and security department. I entered my pin number wrong too many times and got locked out. They had me verify some not too personal information and unlocked me. I didn't have to give them my account numbers or anything. Verified my name, how long account was open, and last four of my social. They then proceeded to ask me about the 6 transactions I had just attempted and verified it was me doing it. My card was unlocked immediately. Talked to HSBC and all it OK so I don't think this was a case of fraud.

I got an email from HSBC Fraud Detection Services asking me to call back this number (800-528-0694). I call ed them back but on a different Customer Service Number provided on their webpage. It turned out to be right. The email was send from HSBC and they wanted to verify a unusual transaction.

The number is NOT A SCAM. Enter the phone number into google's searchbox and one of the results should be for HSBC's fraud section of their website. I got a call from them as well, today, and called them back to verify some purchases i recently made.

Legitimate call from HSBC Fraud Center.  My card was duplicated and was being used in another state.  They flagged the change in location as suspicious and called me to verify.  Thankful they did!

Yes this is an HSBC phone number - They email/call me whenever there is a transaction that is outside my normal pattern - it is a valid number. if you put it into google search hsbc's website is the first thing that comes up.

it's legit! i called hsbc directly and they transferred me to this number. i clarified if the number 18005280694 is a legit hsbc number and they confirmed. i am so relieved!

Called the number at the back of my card, and they confirmed that the number was legit.
If you have any doubt, just call the number at the back of your card directly and they'll transfer you.
