Received a call - all i got was a background "holding" music.  No person ever came on the phone.

Direct TV collections, I owe them for a final bill.  I thought it was paid since I cut service off one month before contract expired; but they charged me a termination fee.

Standard collection company of some kind most likely Arizona based.

This number was previously reported as a debt collector for Direct TV.  I too have received calls from this number.  But, I have NEVER been a Direct TV subscriber.  If this is a collection agency, perhaps it is collecting for others too.  However, as the caller ID simply says Toll Free Call, and the message left on voice Mail does not identify any company, there is no way to tell who the caller was without paying for a reverse number lookup.  I'm not that curious and won't spend money to find out.

The message left was a recording thanking me for my patience and advising that an operator will be with me in a moment.  So, it is an illegal Robocall to start with which does tend to indicate a collection company.  After the initial "partial" announcement thanking for "patience" there is elevator music until the voice mail cuts off.

As I've only had my number for about two months, it is most likely the caller is looking for the numbers previous owner.

800-531-8398 is USAA collections department. If you are late on your insurance payment they will be calling you from this number to try and arrange a payment.
