I've been receiving calls from this number for about 3 weeks.. in the morning, late at night, sometimes repeatedly one right after another. I know the number is some sort of telemarketer, so I pick up and hang up.. they continue to call! Just like the rest.. they never leave a message.

Female caller asked for my spouse by name - I responded he was not home - caller quickly hung up.

If you call the number back it says something like "You just got a call from NATIONAL UNION FIRE INSURANCE COMPANY OF PITTSBURGH, PA with a special offer, if you wish to be called back again press 1, or if you wish to be put on the do not call list press 2."    Obviously I pressed 2, then it instructs you to enter your phone number into their 'do not call' registry, what I find odd is that we are already on the national do not call registry, go figure.

I got a call and not sure if they were the ones that left me a VM but they were rude and sounded urgent.

This number is one that keeps showing up on my caller ID--leaves no message when I don't answer it.  (Important callers whose numbers I don't recognize, always do, of course.)

They call and hang up when the machine picks up.

I picked up and the person asked for someone by name--someone who doesn't even exist as far as I know.  But, he said if I was interested, to call a number (I didn't write it down).  Then I used by caller ID and returned that call.  The recording said you have just been called by blah, blah, blah insurance company and to press a number for...  I hung up.  I hope that doesn't allow them to continue calling, as my number is registered on the "DO NOT CALL" list.  Someone is always finging a way around the system.  What an annoyance!

I just received the call from this number.  I decided to answer it because I always tell the telemarketers (as nicely as I can since it's a horrible job) to please take me off their list (otherwise, they WILL keep calling).  However, when I immediately came to my computer to look up the 800-553-1077 number, I started reading all of these entries, and some on another site.  THIS TIME THE WOMAN ADVISED SHE WAS CALLING ON BEHALF OF MY BANK.  I don't know what that's all about, but a message to my bank is next on my list!!!

Lady asked for a previous employee and someone else never heard of.  Said she was calling for Wells Fargo Bank.

I get a call every day from 800-553-1077.  When I answer, it clicks off.  No one ever answers.  From now on I will let my answering machine pick up.

This number 800-553-1077 is calling two to three times a day. My answering machine never has a message. Does anyone know of any effort, company or mediator that would allow to block specific phone numbers? We are registered in the "DO NOT CALL" list, but these calls come in anyway.

These guys are driving me nuts - they call several times a day. I do not answer as the caller ID tells me it is a likely sales call.

Do not call list entries expire after five years.  I know it doesn't seem like it, but we have been enjoying blissful silence for the last 5 years.  If you get a call from 800-553-1077 you may have expired as we had.  So go back to http://www.donotcall.gov and re-enter your numbers.

If you call back the 553-1077 number it's really easy to get off their list - but why do it one telemarketer at a time?

Has been calling 10 times a day for the past week.

They just called here.  I had the phones turned off so my little ones can sleep undisturbed, but looked at Caller ID and there it was.  No message left of course, so it can't be anything too important.

I've had three calls from this number just today and several more in the past few days.  I'm on the no-call list and I don't like this, especially since I have no idea who they are.

Unfortunately, my home phone number is VERY similar to this 1-800-553-1077 number. So, those who are called, call me back and ask why I called them.

I don't get calls from the telemarketer, I get calls from those that received called from the telemarketer. It is just as bad. Try explaining to 5 people a day that you didn't call them. Then they have trouble understanding who really called them.

They called, got the machine and hung up.

Said he was from AIG giving $25 gas vouchers for just looking at their $2 million accidental death insurance. I asked to be removed from their calling list. We'll see.
