who's calling from this number

not sure who it is, i just got one too and it was dead air, said hello twice

I just git a call from that number and I dont jnow who the are and stop calling here or I will be police

1-800-561-5728 Collection agency masquerading as phone company.

Just got a call that was purportedly from Bell Aliant (phone company), however they were looking for a person to pay a bill, but we don't know the person who owes the bill. Very poor english, and bad grasp of communication.

Upon further investigation with the REAL Bell Aliant in the phone book they said the number 1-800-561-5728 was their number for their accounts receivable department. Upon further pressure, Bell Aliant admitted that the number belonged to a collection agency that they outsource to.

just get them to stop calling because my next step is to file a complaint with the department of human rights as we have all been very ill, especially our child who ended up in the hospital for a week, this number has called repetitively and we are NOT behind on our bill! So, if it is a collection agency, it is an evil one who not only do not know how to speak our language but obviously cannot read either. I know that it highly unprofessional of BellAliant being the corporate business that it is, to hire such harassing bimbos to contact their Canadian clients on behalf of them... shame on BellAliant and get ready because we ought to all begin sending emails to our MLA's and Department of Human Rights...good grief what is our country coming to? We have cut all special needs programs including Arts in the schools but we are exposed to the corporate world's intimidating invasion just to see if they can bully us into paying our bills sooner. That is all for now.  

Wow, how are you getting them to stop calling?  By calling Bell Aliant and making certain your  bills  are paid on time? If so, we should not be so pushed around by Bell through this outsource that we pay in order to stop the phone from ringing....right?

I receive a call from 800-561-5728 and he left me a message saying I have until the next day to call and he gave me another number 800-223-7095 with a reference number. So I call, when I did, it answer Bell Aliant. I was surprise because I always pay my bill. Somebody who had difficulty to speak in english answer. I told him somebody call me and gave me a reference number. He couldn't tell me what it is for and needed my Bell account number. I told him I am not giving any information by phone. He was rude so I told him I am going to call Bell Aliant directly myself. So I call them and they told me everything is ok and I was a good client. I'm wondering, is it because I just change my home number to Rogers but still have my mobility with Bell.

This is a scam. Plain and simple. They have been calling me everyday for a week now and I don't even have a Bell account. When I tell them this, they hang up. It's just like those emails you get from "such and such bank" - a bank that you do not hold an account with - claiming that your password has been entered incorrectly 3 times and your account will close if you don't click on the link provided...... Scam. Most people just happen to have a Bell account and that's why they consider it plausible.

This number calls at least three times daily. Each time there has been nothing but dead air.

this number called my house over a period of 5 days. they said to return call immediately concerning my phone bill. they said they were from aliant asking my personal information. I don't have a problem with my phone or my bill.

Well, its like 1 digit off 1-800-561-8729, but this number is a place that helps people get their high school diplomas. I should do that. I took my GED tests and passed yet I didn't get my GED, apparently they lost my file, riiight, I bet they did. So, anyway, I just saw the commercial for this high school diploma thing so I saved the number but missed the name so I decided to google the number to find the name but all I found was this number which is apparently debt collectors, weird.

Their number showed up on my phone numerous times so I called them back and they wanted to know my account number and how much I owed on the account.  I say nothing the account is paid in full and then they wanted to know how much I paid .   I said you are a scam agency and you should know how much money was paid on the account and he hung up on me.

whoever it is has called 7 times today... 3 in the last hour alone. I have answered it once and this lady is fast talking and rude. I have been recovering from bone marrow transplant and sleep a lot. Not impressed with all the calls. Its is truly ridiculous.  I cant turn off my phone because my doc's call to adjust my meds. Is there anything else I can do?

Been getting this number for days just dead air

We were receiving so many calls from 1 800 561 5728,that we changed the message on our answering machine by saying that we no longer answered unfamiliar numbers unless the callers identified themselves by not blocking their names from call display.We had given up answering 1 800 calls anyway because they invariably were from telemarketers and other unfamiliar caller numbers often turned out to be computer scams.We are still receiving 3 or 4 calls a day from this number and I don't know why because all our bills are up to date and we have no outstanding debts.Maybe they are also a scam and they call you and tell you that you are going to have your wages garnisheed just to put you in a position of panic with the hope that you'll send them the amount they request without questioning them.That is deceitful and clearly they are using blackmail and extortion to scare you into paying them money that you don't owe.

So I received a call never answered but it did say bell aliant above.the number?!!  If this is a scam how are they getting belt name on their number?

This number is calling  6-7 times a day

I think it really is a company contracted by Bell. They called about 15x this week. I answered an earlier call and couldn't understand much, but a man said I was in arrears  and then hung up on me. (A day before that I paid bell by my banking online and it was a little late bc I forgot about it)
He called today and said he was w bell and I was no longer behind. So I think it's an outsourced bell receivables dept

I keep getting calls. When I answer no one is there.

Yes they called and put me on hold ???? Some kinda scam call.
