Keep getting calls from 800-592-9196 at work. When I answer, they hang up. Have tried calling back and just get a busy signal.

Same here.  Whey do they hang up???

It's annoying to put another call on hold to connect to their call & hear click-click, (hang-up.)
The calls continue about every 2 days.

I started getting the calls after my number was published in a newspaper article.  It must be some telemarketing number harvesting service.

Me too-I started getting these calls after my phone number was published in a newspaper article. When I call this number back, I get a message that this number is not in service.

Would be nice to know what people are calling about. Doesn't happen here,with this number.

They are calling several times per day and when I call back it is either a fast busy or a recording that says the number is not currently working!  I wish I knew what article I was published in that started all of this nonsense.

Could hardly understand the guy that was on the line, he said something along the lines of comparison of health something or other.

I answered the call... the woman on the other line asked for the "head woman of the household", so, I asked what this was in regards to, she said that they are doing a survey...I said. we aren't interested in taking surveys, do not call here again.  then I hung up.  They called back about 2 minutes later. Uh, which part of do not call again did you NOT understand is what I came out fighting with.  So, I told them that if they call here again, I will report the number to the powers that be, and they will be fined.  I don't have to take that crap. NOT ON MY TIME.

This number is definately a company that got your information from some publication whether it be a newspaper, or magazine article....they are trying to preserve your information on a plaque - becareful if you take the call, before you know it you will get a plaque with your publication on it - and an invoice for atleast $165.00...they will fight to get you to keep this plaque....SAD!

Called after 6:00PM Saturday night.  Was conducting a questionnaire about our supposed business-----(which we did not own).

No name was given as to who they were.  We hung up.

Now she is running a scam to get your credit card number for some govt. grant b.s.

here at work we receive about 5-6 calls per day from this number, i call back and is give me a recording says " the number you dial is not in service at this time"

I'm getting REAL tired of this. These people have been calling me 6-8 times a day for over a week now, both on my home phone and my business line.

Say, just when is this Do Not Call thing going to take effect?

This number shows up over and over and my caller ID.  When I answer in an attempt to have my name removed from their call list they hang up.

They claim to be calling regarding "business listings."

I am listed on the "do not call list" and don't understand why this is happening.

I hate these nuisance calls. So what if dialers call several numbers and only take the first one, just don't call me at all!  Suggestions others have posted: say you'll take the call then hit a button and hold it - let them hear the tone then hang up; call tracing; report them to the FCC; answer with your own "recording", act like you really want their service til you get enough info to hang them.

Two calls from them this morning; first one dead air, second one live person asking to speak to owner.  told them they couldn't speak to the owenr and have a nice day.  Also added them to my cell phone number listing under the heading "Solicitor" so I don't have to answer it next time.

Yeah....I just got a call today... She told that she is calling from Philippines with a laugh all over the talk.....Explaining some non understandable telephonic schemes of some company.....I could not understand any of her word and i told not to call back...but i got the same call before few days when i just got some beep sounds alone.....
