its funny cuz these people have to work there... its a payday loan shop off the books.....they tried to collect on a check n go acct i had previously paid.....except they wanted 3xs what i actually took....no to mention when i called check n go i followed the chain of title and i paid the right place. SCAM!!!! not to mention the M.Robert Madia II, Esq that they put on the letters they send out is a entertainment attorny....look him up in linkedin.....hes a chairman of the board of robby records....he trains people to be a DJ!!!! tooo funny!!! no to mention anyone can make a website....so as far as i can see they break the FDCPA multiple times.....misrepresenting themselves, not saying the mini maranda when they call, sending texts, threating legal action, and harrassing people by calling all day long! i borrowed $312 they sent me a letter (on my request) asking for over $1,800 they couldnt tell me when i openned it and when it charged off....they couldnt give me 1/2 the info i asked for.....Oh and the original acct number they give out is bull....Check N Go had no idea what i was talking about....they dont use account numbers like "national Check Registry" gives out. I also love how they are in buffalo NY!!! that explains why the woman who called me spoke ebonics!!! No offence but if ur trying to pass off as a "attorny firm" i suggest u leave you ghetto talk at the door! Oh and you know they are debt collectors because at the bottom of the letter they say "this is an attempt to collect a debt. Any information obtained will be used for that purpose" (that is the mini maranda that they are supost to say to you at the beginning of each call as per the FDCPA)! Oh people please dont fall for their lies.... infact do yourself a favor and ask these "attorneys" for their bar # if they are infact attornies! Or how about a federal ID # that shows they are a true company not just some shop that opened up one day to change there name the next? good luck and know that if they are calling for a check n go case....call check n go and ask who has the chain of title, cuz it isnt them!!!

They just opened (from what I can find) in june of 2012. They appear to have formerly been "Goldberg Maxwell" and Nat. Check Recovery Systems. Their address for service is:

    National Check Registry LLC c/o
    Christian M Lovelace, Esq. (1-716-853-5100, clovelace@lippes.com)
    Lippes Mathias Wexler Friedman LLP
    665 Main Street, Suite 300
    Buffalo, NY 14203

Mr. Lovelace appears to be associated with all of the above companies and is young. Probably associated with Joe Bello who is the original old debt buyer in the Buffalo area. He moves around from firm to firm. LMWP sounds like a reputable firm and probably has no idea what kind of person they hired as an Associate.

PLEASE, if you have a debt, pay it if you can. But do so to the original lender or at least verify and validate that the money is going to the original debt.

They use scare tactics too try and collect ANY amount they can. By submitting money on an unverified acct, it COULD legally become a debt that you did not originally owe....PLUS, do you really want to give bullies the satisfaction?

And as an FYI, if you do get a "settlement offer" it will be via email as they "do not correspond through the mail"....The lawyer CC'd on it is Michael Robert Madia II, Esq. A search on him will show The Madia Law Firm, LLC but it appears to be defunct and the number is an out of service Verizon Line.

He does not seem to be associated with a law firm and appears to be associated with a media company in San Diego??

    His physical address is:
    Michael Robert Madia II
    14 St James Place
    Buffalo, NY 14222

And they have a BBB rating of "F" (of course).

Here is an interisting write up on the Buffalo Debt Collection phenom:
    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/01/05/buff ... s_n_412238.html

At least it explains why the people working for these companies "bend" the laws. They are poor and stuck in a town that is near collapse

These people called me today stating that they had a warrant on my social security number and that i owed $1430.00 from a payday loan from 2007. I looked them up the information on the "letter" they emailed to me and its all a LIE! They will only communicate via emailDO NOT give them any information. it is fraudulant.

If you look at the "letter" you can see where they pasted the "NCR" symbols as letterhead. My 14 year old can work photoshop better....

Again, Demand verification of the debt through postal service and a PHYSICAL address. PO boxes are used by these type of "collectors" (term used VERY loosely) so that they can ignore certifiedd mail and claim never to have recieved it...

You have a legal right to refuse to deal with a debt collector and deal directly with the original creditor. Use it

    Concerned
They gave me a payment plan. I had owed a debt from check n go and I thought I didn't have to pay it but after i did it freed me up to get extended credit with check n go. Not sayin anything but I had planned on paying it and now the calls stopped.

I'm glad things worked out for you Concerned.
Personally, I would have gone back to check and go and worked with them directly now that I know what I know about them (NCR)...

I hope you get things straightened out and can stop using CnG too. they charge way too much interest, but we have all been there

I don't like that they have my full SS#, but I will not be calling them back. They have the letter written NOTICE OF DEMAND, VERIFICATION OF DEBT & OFFER OF SETTLEMENT in some legal format that says draft complaint. And yes the M Robert Madia, II name is on their as the lawyer.
The orginial creditors name is BMG??? That was not the companies name when I borrowed the money and paid

Got a letter in the mail from a company called NCR. The letterhead looks like someone pasted it???

Anyway it's on some type of legal draft letter showing a company by the name of BMG that I owe 650, BUT they will settle this amount for $438.
I had a payday loan that I paid in full back in 2010 (I kept all the paperwork, cancelled check, etc...) Now this company is sedning me this garbage. Should I call them??? From what I am reading above it is NOT a legimate company and it appears to be a scam.
    Please advise.
    Thank you all.

Received a call from a Mr. Sanchez, stating we owed money for payday loans from 2009.  We have never even taken out a payday loan.  In addition, they called family members, threatening them with federal charges.  Not sure how they got any of these numbers.  Also, they could not even give me an amount we supposedly owed.  He was willing to settle, if I gave him my banking info.  Must think we are all stupid.  Said he would e-mail me info, but have not received anything.  Something needs to be done about these scammers!

M Robert Madia II went to one of the nations top ranked law schools and then passed the NY bar on his first attempt. He works hard for a living. Any chance you could NOT promote that he is a scam?

University Of San Diego School Of Law
Licensed member of state bar of New York focused on accounts receivable management and commercial litigation

Mr Madia may be a smart man. He may be a great lawyer (somewhere). But the fact remains that he has no office in Buffalo. The closest you can find is a disconnected Cingular phone.

He does appear to have a business in San Diego working with the recording industry (??) and I wish him nothing but luck. If he chooses to be part of the Buffalo Debt Collector scam, then shame on him

This is the site he is using to "re-brand" himself. They overload the web with good info to counter any of teh negative put out there....The fact remains that prior to Dec of 2012 there was no MRM or what have you. He allows his name to be used by the Buffalo Area junk debt collectors (which I have outlined in previous posts.

If he tuly is legit, he and Mr lovelace should be putting their skills to work to protect people from companies like NCR

    One last lil' tidbit.
Robert Madia states he played for the San Diego Gulls in 98. A search of the Gulls rosters from 96-99 (giving him leeway for typos) http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=10919 shows that he did play for them from 96-97 with no playoff stats (so assume he didn't play in the playoffs).

Also of note is the extensive sports career! Alabama, Florida, Dallas, Sacremento, San Diego. He was VERY Busy, all while getting awards for scholastic excelence (and junk)....Which I am still researching...

http://reputationbuild.wix.com/reputationmanagement#!untitled/cngp Also, Mr Madia's resume shows a 7 year hiatus (98-2005) from practice. Why would he do that? and also, he was the "house" legal counsel for NCR from 2006-2012. All the while heading MRM

When things don't add up, one must rethink the math. So Mr/Mrs Non-Hater (employee of http://reputationbuild.wix.com/reputationmanagement# ?), if ya love him so much, why dontcha marry him
