I have calls from this number. I have an account with a credit card company - maybe I am late - but could only be a week at the most. The problem being is that they call and put me on hold and then come back and ask for me, not knowing who they are --- I say the person is not home. The caller then proceeds to ask me if my spouse is home. Let's see a woman ---answers then you ask if her spouse is home. This is real smart because you set the woman up to say she is alone ----she could therefore be unknowingly giving away "personal security" information to someone she does not know - what if this was a caller wanting to know if the female lives alone? Real stupid and careless and puts the person answering in a bad situation. This is not the way to build a relationship with the customer - it is a way for the customer to decide that they never want to do business with you or the credit card company you are working for! I had to go online to find out who would want to know if I had a spouse at home - ridiculous

I've had repeat calls from this number 800-684-8429 before.  The last time before today it lasted about 2 -3 weeks - about 5 - 10 calls per day.  This time they were fishing for me to enter a credit card number.  I have no credit cards with this bogus bank and never have.

Then umber belongs to HSBC Bank's Cred Card Collection services. They can call up to and over 10 times a day, including Sunday's. They will not stop calling until you've caught up on your payments or they've got whatever it is they want from you. Speaking to a rep will only delay the calls a few days before they start up again unless your situation is truly resolved.

If they're calling you and you don't have a credit card with an HSBC logo, might be a good idea to check your credit rating and make sure your ID hasn't been stolen.

The number is DEFINITELY HSBC's!  They've been calling here every day at least 4 times a day asking for my roommate.  Roommate does not keep normal hours so we ask if there is a message or if I can tell them who called.  Typical answer - No message and then click.  I've even got the answer - we're not allowed.  HUH???  So today -  after the 3rd caller hung up on me because I told them they were calling excessively for someone who was not available and if they weren't going to give me their name or a message, that I was going to need to file a cease and desist letter.  They told me that I wasn't the person they were looking for.  Uh ..no duh...so I nicely informed them that no, I wasn't the person they were looking for but I was the person who paid the phone bill.  They hung up.  I was ready to ask for a manager which wouldn't have done any good anyways.

Instead, I looked the number up...found out who it was (wow..and to think, I have two accounts with them that I WILL be canceling ASAP)...and called them back.  I just waited the phone system out until it automatically connected me with a "customer service" rep.  I complained and told them they were calling excessively.  I got the usual BS and believe me, I will take action if this don't stop.  Right now I think my only legal advantage to this is they told me some information I know by law they cannot disclose.

So here I am, leaving this message on here.  I hope this helps someone and hopefully they'll stop calling.

calls AT LEAST 5-10 times a day. Every time I answer I give it at least 20 seconds for someone to answer. but there isn't ever anyone there!!!! They call early in the morning, throughout the day, and way into the night, it's absolute harassment. No matter who the company is. I know my fiance has an orchard bank card, but that is no reasoning to have a automatic caller harrass us! Complete BS!

calls AT LEAST 6 times a day, every day for the last couple weeks on my cell phone.  I have a HSBC credit card but not with Orchard Bank - the caller NEVER leaves a message, just hangs up and calls back later.  Sometimes within less than 45 minutes - IT IS VERY ANNOYING!!!!!  How do I get them to stop calling me?

Today is the first time I've gotten phone calls from this number.  I didn't answer the first time because I didn't recognize the number.  They called back later and asked for my friend.  As soon as I said she wasn't home, they hung up.   Didn't get a chance to ask who they were or anything.  The call was a bit too creepy for my taste, so I got on here to look up the number... and here I am.

    I hope this doesn't continue.

All I do with these harassing calls is the following:
I immediately send them a letter (some say you need to use certified mail) but for me a plain letter works every time. This is what it says:

(my letterhead: name adress, phone no.)

                CEASE AND DESIST ORDER
    Dated:
TO: (harrassing friend's name and address here)

Effective immediately, CEASE AND DESIST all harassing telephone calls to the above individual: to phone number: ....my phone no.

    (signature)

cc. (a favorite lawfirm name here -if you wish)

It works like a charm for me...
    Good Luck,
    Lisa

The worst part is they continue to call once their job is done.  I got a Best Buy Mastercard that I never used but the card had a yearly fee (I know not a good idea) anyway, I ignored the thing and was late on the yearly fee payment when they started to call about two weeks ago on a Saturday at around 8 am.  I went online later that day and payed the thing off...and they have been calling me 5 times every other day ever since.  I've answered a couple times hoping to talk to a person so I can get this to stop but they always hang up on me.  I'm not sure what to do but they called me 6 times today starting at 8 am and its Sunday, two weeks after I paid up on my outstanding bills...is that legal?

they call me four or five times a day up until 9:00 pm and have been calling for about two weeks.  I have not answered the phone because I do not answer phone numbers that are not familier.  If it is important I figure they can leave a message of which they do not.  So, I will not answer the phone.  It is extremely annoying.f6f9

They hire people overseas to do the calls.  They can barely speak English.  Once you give them a date you will pay they continue to try to get a payment over the phone...which I will never do.
This just p--- me off when I get a call from these [***].
I always say, transfer this to someone that speaks friggin English and I will talk to them.....they hang up on me...heehee

I am call every day 4 to 7 times and I am not late on any payment. When I pickup no one talks to me and line goes dead. Sometimes I get a recording to standby still no one talks to me. Set a letter to them in January and still the calls keep on coming. I will now send a letter again but a copy to FTC and My state. Hopefully this will get action.

I answer the central switchboard for a large company, and all calls come through me.  This number appears on Caller ID at least 15 times a day.  It's always a hang-up as soon as they hear its a company receptionist.  I'm glad I found out what this number is - we work with classified material and I was just about to move my concerns up the line to our Security Department (the step after that is Homeland Security).
