Couldn't identify the caller and didn't want to call back without knowing the caller

THIS IS A FRAUDULENT CALL, WHICH SPOOFS THE NATIONAL GRID EMERGENCY NUMBER.
I got a call from this number, which is actually the National Grid emergency number for MA customers to report suspected gas leaks. The caller ID only showed the number, and the caller left no message. So I called National Grid Customer Service who verified that they NEVER call customers from this number, but instead use a customer service number with a corporate caller ID.  Bottom line is that some spammer is spoofing this number for their nefarious business, so it's safe to ignore or block it.  This another argument for having the FCC criminalize the use of false caller IDs and to ban the sale of devices that create them.

This is the number for National Grid's billing department. It shows up if they're calling to remind you about an overdue bill. It is a legitimate number.
