They just keep calling, can't even get our last name right!

I just got a call from "Medical Services" claiming to be a collection agency. I don't know if they are legitimate or not.

They keep calling and its a stupid machine talking, it doesnt tell me who its from or anything. And when i call back they put me on hold for at least 5 minutes.

they keep calling, if you tell them the person they are looking for is dead they will leave you alone for a few months.  I know it sounds bad but it works.

I keep getting call from this number telling me I need to call them at this number.  They say they have some personal business to discuss.  But never say what.

For me, it was Shawnee Mission Medical Center. They were trying to bill me, but had my address wrong.
Sadly, I corrected it.

SMMC is trying to bill me but they never sent me a bill and they have the correct address. Maybe if the damn hospital would do their own work they wouldn't have to charge me extra for the "Medical Service" company.

I get message from "medical services" and Debbie asks me to call back with a reference #. I call back and speak with some lady that wants me to give her all my information. I tell her my name and reference #, but then she wants my date of birth and address. I tell her no. She can't go any further due to the HIPPA or HIPPA laws. I tell her that since your company called me apparently you need something from me so just mail whatever it is. She yelled stating she would "note the account". What a bunch of idiots!

I just received a call from this number yesterday.  They left a message regarding Shawnee Mission Medical Center also.  Just paid a bill I just received for the first time for services from 10 months ago.  Just received the insurance statement with this billing info also.  Who knows why it took so long to get this billing.  Maybe it has something to do with that.  The person left an extension (#1407) so I at least could leave a message for them to call me back.  Haven't heard back yet.

I have been receiving calls from the medical services for around the previous three days now. I had some things done at Shawnee Mission medical back in May and they are now billing me for it.

They had my information correct, and I was asked to pay a bill of $43.94. So I'm watching my bank account now for the time being. I was told that I'll receive a paid receipt next Wednesday, as it takes a few business days for everything to be processed.

I received a call earlier today from this place too.
I recently had tests done, but not with them, in fact, my insurance has nothing to do with any of them, so I didn't answer, just let the machine pick up.

While she said who she was and gave me a reference number, she didn't say what exactly her call was in reference to.

Caller ID said name unknown, even though she verbally said she was from SMMC.

I looked up the actual Shawnee Mission Medical Center and all their phone listings have area code 913, not any 800's anywhere on their site.

I plan to call them after awhile and ask if they know someone is calling random people under their representation and gaining the personal information of the unsuspecting.

I just got off the phone with Shawnee Mission medical billing department.
she verified that this medical collection service is indeed one they use, but when I informed her that my insurance was in no way affiliated with any of their services and I didn't even live near them, she became rather annoyed.

When I told her the name left on my machine wasn't even mine, and in fact our number was non published, she said that likely it should have been someone else's number and mine had been inadvertently typed in, and unless I gave my number to HER, it couldn't be removed from the system, and the calls would continue.

Yeah, right, like I'm giving my number out to a random stranger.

She became really annoyed when I asked her if she was aware that there were websites where people had been reporting other calls from this number who did give their information and subsequently had their bank accounts cleaned out and their credit cards maxed out.

Again she repeated that unless I gave her my phone number it wouldn't be removed from the system and the calls would continue.

No way am I doing even that, I'll just continue letting it go to the machine and then pressing disconnect if it's from them.

This is a automated collection call from a third party.This party will get a piece of whatever you agree to pay. I say please only pay the party you owe when you pay...help put these people out of business. They will not get a cent unless you agree to pay through them.

I do not know who this is, and am tired of getting calls.

Just an update that since I called the Shawnee Mission Medical Billing department and informed them of the underhanded practices of the collection agency they are using, I have had no more calls - and I never gave out my phone number to anyone.

So I'd say, don't call the number back, rather call the agency or company they claim to represent and inform them that someone claiming to represent them is harassing you.

In my case, I wasn't even the person they were looking for, I have never had any affiliation with the medical facility.

I have been receiving calls from this 800 number for over a week.  So I *67'd them, and all I got was an automated system, asking for account number etc.

In filing away my paid bills a little later, I discovered this same number on a bill I had received and paid.  Apparently, it's a medical billing service in Chattanooga, TN that is connected with apparently any hospital or medical service that has the word "Adventist" before it's name.

I had tests done back in June, and this is the first bill I ever received.  It was due yesterday, but these automated calls started coming in early last week, before the bill was ever due.

So beware - if you have any dealings with an organization with the word "Adventist" before it, you will also be hounded by them, no matter how SMALL the amount.

Received several phone calls from these people never leave a message or anything time to block that #

I answered when they call it was automated. I dont answer and call back, it is automated. what is going on here I don't understand. The have a generic name of medical services. I'm 21... I let my parents handle my medical bills. I always give my home number for any medical records and they are calling my cell phone. I don't understand.

If you pay your bills a collector wouldn't be calling you.  They are a legitimate company engaged by Medical service providers (doctors, hopsitals, etc.)

[***] em, let em call and mail all they want. They will wait more on postage than what my actual bill is. In the end I have to file for BK anyway. Thank our fine Gov't, for stealing and stealing from the poor until we can not give anymore!
