I receive calls from this number numerous times a day (good thing i'm not home during the day).  SOmetimes CID displays "out of area" and sometimes "U PS" (yes with a space between U and P).  FYI someone heisted UPS's caller ID - it is an illegitimate call (UPS is not placing this call).  Your best bet is to report the scamming to UPS (which I did) and they will have their security department check it out.

Just got a call also.  6/5/08  9:02am  from 1800 742 5877  It was a missed called cause i was in the shower.

I just opened a new business and I keep getting calls from 1-800-742-5877.
When I answer the call,they say nothing and hang up. Its is really becoming a problem and I really wish some would look into it.

Its is the UPS 800 number.  I work for UPS and every call that is made from any UPS company phone will show this number in the caller ID regardless of what location makes the call.

this is a fraud call...talked to ups and this number will NEVER show if they are calling you....

I got a call from this number today and nobody was at the other end except for some piano music.

1-800-742-5877 is UPS. Their corporate office is 404-828-4300. You need to apparently contact the "Chris" department to get taken off a list.

After jumping through hoops after being nice ~ i finally got to the right place (I hope). It IS ILLEGAL for places to call you to solicit business that you have not had business with them before. The exceptions are polling, donations in which you've done business and the like.

Do your part and smear this online when it's warranted so that we can stop this nonsense.

You have posted onto a site for complaining about unwanted phone calls.       Don't really think that you meant to do that.

I received a call today from this number. They were calling about jury duty summons and that we did not respond to them. They asked for my husband's and my workplace address and phone number to verify if we worked 40 hrs a week. Said that we could be exempt from jury duty. Is this possible?

Actually, I called this number.  1pm CST Sept. 8, 2010.   I was online trying to find a phone number for the UPS Customer Service Drop-off Facility near my house.  I've sent out packages from there for over 20 years.  I just needed to know their hours so I could plan my errands.  

When I called this number, I got an irritating irrelevant automated service.  Finally, I got transferred to a human. I asked about the hours and he said he needed to know what was in the package to be mailed. He would NOT give me the hours of operations for the facility until I gave him an answer. So I gave him an answer.  Then he told me that their hours were 8am until 7pm.  

He was demanding and grilling me to the point of frustration.  What was in the package, was irrelevant. It was a basic question of when were they open for business.  I could have been dropping off Holiday cookies for the people that work there!    What kind of business treats their customers like this?

i got a call from the number at 9:27am Oct 26th. the guy on the other end said he was calling from UPS and a delivery driver just called him saying that he was in Oakville, Ontario with a package to be delivered to this number but he could not find the address. he also said that the paper with the address and my name was missing and some parts of the package was damaged, but he could find my number since it was written all over the package. the guy i spoke to said he needed my name address and number to get the package delivered to me. i told him i'm not expecting anything so he should just send it back. he said he still needed my info to do that. so i asked again how he got my number and he said that it comes up when the package is scanned. so i asked him where the package is coming from he said Bell, Ontario. I never heard of Bell, Ontario and i live in Toronto, Ontario and only know people in Toronto. now next shady part...how he said the driver can't get my info but when he scan the package he can get so much info. doesn't make much sense to me. i started giving him my name but then i run to my laptop and checked the number out and came across this info and told him to call me back in an hour.

I recieved an SMS message at 8:30 on 1/4/13, said was UPS, call 1-800-742-5877 or reply yes or no to message. I did neither, deleted message. called on home phone to the 800 #, it was UPS. I had no reason to be getting a call from them.

I work in the warehouse in Regina, and can confirm that this is in fact the number they call from.

I received a call from this number at 3:35 AM!  The male on the phone asked about me selling my snow tires.  I said I didn't know anything about it, and then he asked, "Well, isn't this Julie?"  I hung up without response.

I have no idea how they would know my name, and I'm not selling any snow tires.  I don't have ANY craigslist items for sale, or on any other sites.  Creepy.

If you request a change of delivery address from UPS you may get a call from them from this number to confirm.
