- PFS hater| 2 repliesProgressive financial services student loan collection ... These guys collect on student loans
These guys are annoying some lady name "Candice Wright" keep calling me every single day. They have the nerve to call my boss and start saying "I HAVE A TIME SENSITIVE INFORMATION FOR YOUR EMPLOYEE" . I tell them to stop calling me and my work but they still call every day. They are going to get me fired. Anyways After 2 weeks of candice's phone assault I decided to call her back.... She started demanding that i pay 400 dollars a month on some old AZZ student loan. I WORK MINIMUM WAGE... I have no car, and no savings.... I live pay check to pay check... I told her this but she is a well trained DOG.... she just keeps at it... I found some information on some website made by a former collector and he talks about everything... Alll the nAsty tactics these collection agencies employ..... READ ABOUT YOUR OPTIONS... it turned out my payments were as low as 100 dollars a month.... THIS IS HIGHWAY ROBBERY.... PEOPLE YOU NEED TO BE INFORMED.... My blessings go out to you... Honest, hard working americans that are struggling....

- doug replies to PFS hater| 1 replyif you paid back your debt they wouldnt call you, you borrowed the money, pay it back common sence
- Robert| 7 repliesYeah Right,
Like you've paid every single debt you owe. Plus by the time its made it thru the ringer , you own 10 times the actual amount. Owing a debt does not mean you are owned. They should not be able to sell your debt and then add to it.
This last commenter doug , is the same guy who probably pays for his movies and music instead of downloading them. There is no morality associated with paying a student loan back and if you can get away from debt collectors then fine by me. I don't fell like I owe any money to some 3rd party telemarketer train as a shark, on a debt that I never compile from them. They just bought it.
Here's a question , why do ppl let a phone call bother them. Many ppl have creditors calling jobs and I've even heard of creditors showing up and talking to neighbors. Why would anyone let a phone bother them. I could see if they were firing live rounds thru your front window, but so far all they can do is call you. You know they have these smart phones now days that you can block out any number you don't want to deal with. F*** you doug. Debt is a frame of mind. Get over it. Don't let creditor intimidate you.- Call type: Debt collector
- EINPDX| 4 repliesRobert, people like you are what is wrong with America.
"Like you've paid every single debt you owe". I have.
If you borrow money, simple values are that you should pay it back. You read the terms of the loan when you borrow the money, and follow the rules. Nobody forces you to borrow money.
It may be unfortunate that you run into circumstances if you can't pay, but you shouldn't shirk your responsiblity and refuse to pay what you owe. - jeo bi wish the hell these people stop calling the wrong # they dont give a dam what where and the person they calling..
- tired of 800 callsThis is one of the MANY calls we get EVERY day! We are on the do not call list, but the calls keep coming!
- 100% disabled VeteranTried to get student loan debts cancelled through DAV. DE cancels debts & removes them from my credit reports for six months, and then has them relisted as unpaid & resells them to another collection agency. Have been fighting this fight for 10 years now. Original student loan amounts have been increased by collection agencies' fees by a factor of +1000%. At this rate I'll be dead & they'll still be calling. Thanks, US Government. Remember me when you throw another war.

- ZachI received a call from this number at 9:00 pm on a Wednesday night. I let it ring through to my voicemail, but no message was left. I looked the number up on the BBB website and found out that it belongs to Progressive Financial, and they collect on studen loans. I do not owe any balance on any student loans. Not one cent.
I called them back. After navigating an electronic menu guided by a robot with a european accent, I got on the phone with a live person. The first thing she said to me was "Thank you for calling Progressive Financial Services, what is your social security number?" i kindly but firmly informed her that I would not give her that information, and explained my situation. Her excuse for the mis-dial was a "new phone system dialing the wrong numbers."
I asked that she remove me from her list, and told her I had lodged a complaint with BBB for the sloppy mistake. There is no reason for them to call me, ever.

- ssmesq| 2 repliesGot a call AT WORK from this company. All the woman said was "I'm from Progressive Financial Services and I need to confirm your SSN." What? No way, honey. What is this about? "I can't tell you until I confirm your social." Not happening, sweetheart. "Then I need to confirm your birthdate." Not happening either, babydoll. I told her I had never done business with her company, and she said "Yes you have." I said without knowing what it was about I wasn't telling her anything. She said "you really need to talk to me" No, I don't. I hung up. I researched the number, figured out the company, got back to the same woman, and said "why are you calling me" She said she was trying to reach a person - gave my first name and last name, but wrong middle name. I said that's not my name - why didn't you just ask me what my middle name was? They are just rude, and refuse to talk to you without your giving them your social security number. OMG.

- AnnoyedGot a message from this company that gives a three second pause for someone to hang up if it is not them. Mesasge then goes into detail about how they are collecting a debt and I MUST call them back. Apparently they collect on student loans. I went to college 100% on scholarship, so I have ZERO student loans. As near as I can tell, they are a fake scam company.

- FrankIn the early 80's I tried to get into the USAF, I scored 98% on the ASFAB test, but due to a history of respiratory problems, they wouldn't even let me take the physical to get in. So, in 1985 I reluctantly took out a loan in 1985 for $5,000 to attend tech school. Due to health problems, I had to withdraw from school and the balance was to be returned to me ($2,500). The school refused to return the money to me. Regardless, due to collector harassment over the years I paid back over $10,000 and even had a $2,000 "economic stimulus credit" taken from my tax return. PFS is now demanding somewhere around $15,000 additional in repayment. I have disputed the initial amount since day one, but their dirty, mafia style collection practices persist.
I've written my congressman, who simply directed me to ED, who backs up these illegal collection activities. This is a clear case of usury, but it's legal in the US. It's never been on my credit report and if they want money, get a judgement from a court of law. Any judge in his right mind would throw the case out in my favor.- Caller: PFS

- Citizen replies to dougSome reason you feel justified in acting as judge and jury in this matter? You know exactly NOTHING about the person to whom you are making your snide comments, NOTHING of their life, their struggle OR this alleged debt. So how about you STFU and crawl back under your rock?
