I got a call from this number saying it's from US Bank.  A $10K convenience check was written to my husband!  This was false.  I called US Bank and this isn't even one of their numbers.  I don't have a Chase Bank Account!!!

"hello, this is the fraud operations department of chase visa"  I recently wrote a convenience check and they are calling to make sure it was me who wrote it.  It has already been deposited though.  I'm going to call Chase directly- since this nunmber seems to be a little fishy.. ?

I got a call today from this number stating they were from the Chase Bank Fraud Operations department, doing a routine security check to see if I had authorized a Convenience Check and that I need to call them back tomorrow at 2pm EST at the latest.  They said to reference #1000.  Sounded fishy to me as well, so I checked my accounts online, but nothing shows up.  I haven't called them yet, but kind of thinking I shouldn't.

Today at 7:01pm. We got a message on house phone, but caller ID shows 1800-766-4908. A computer recorded message stating that they are from the Chase back fraud operation dept. They like to verify if we authorized a convenience check and need to call back before 2pm Eastern time. With reference number 1000. Also said the above number is open 7/24. They ask for having account number ready when calling back.  Very fishy.

Message left that a convenience check had been written off my Chase account in the amount of $3000 and gave the name of the person. I don't have a Chase account. They said to call before 2pm and reference 0900. I blocked my number and called. She wanted my account number, I told her I didn't have one, she asked again, I told her again LOUDLY that I didn't have one. She hung up on me after I called her a !@#$%. I called Chase's fraud dept directly through a number on their website and there is no activity under my SSN or my spouse. Chase seemed unconcerned, guess this has been going around for a while. I *69'd the number and it came back 800-766-4908, it's not Chase

We called the main Chase Customer Service Number 1-800-945-2000 and confirmed that this 800-766-4908 phone number is the legitimate number for the Automated Fraud System. Of course the Chase Rep then tried to also sell us their fee-based Identity Theft Insurance for "only" $7.00 a month FOREVER. Naturally the rep was VERY persistant. Normally we just hang up on telemarketers but you fear reprisals when you do that with a credit provider so we were polite and, after about the 10th "We're not interested", he finally let us go. We already have another service which should have been obvious, but, oh well..... I HATE Banks and Credit Card Companies and hope the Feds lower the boom on them for all of their deceptive and punitive practices. These G-D Fatcats have gotten away with it for too long!

I got this call tonight on my answering machine from "Chase Marriott Visa fraud department". They did not direct the message to anyone in particular. I do not have an account with them.  Recorded voice says to call them at 800-766-4908. I noticed the other posts listing the time of the call at 7:01pm. I grabbed my phone and looked at the caller ID. The call came in at 7:01pm!

I received this call from Chase.  I do not have a Chase Visa account.  They claimed someone had written a check against my account $11,000.   This is a complete scam.  I don't have, and have never had, a Chase Visa card.

This is legitimate, they computer voice gives you the last four digits of credit card, the amount of the check and to whom the check was written to, in my case the info was correct and I was able to acknowledge the check

I received a voice message at 7:01pm this evening from the "Chase Bank Fraud Operations Department" wanting me to call to authorize a convenience check that was written on my Chase Visa account and to have my account number ready when I call. It is obviously a very suspect message so I will not be falling for it. If an unauthorized charge were to show up on my account, I would call Chase directly to dispute it. I'd encourage everyone not to believe this garbage and anyone on here who's saying it's "legitimate" is probably working for the scam.

I got a call on my home answering machine. The automated recorded message said they were from Chase's Fraud Operations calling about a convinience check that was written from the account. Very fishy message. They did not ask for anyone specifically or identify any account. They ask us to have out card and account information ready and to call back with a confirmation code they gave us. We needed to call before 2pm Eastern time the next day. I called Chase and they said my account had already been closed.

This is totally legitimate.  I also received this call and it was left as a message without identifying who the message was intended for.  I gave out a bunch of personal info. and then closed my account.  I then second guessed myself and called chase customer service.  The woman I spoke to looked up all of my information and confirmed that the account had been closed.

I received a very annoying call at 8:01 am this morning with the same urgent message.  This was enough to actually frighten me and get me to call back, however, I *67'd(block my number), and listened to a questionable recording asking to leave my account number...WHAT?! If it were legit they wouldnt have asked for it, plus they never IDENTIFIED A NAME, and on my voice mail this morning it did NOT NAME ME or ANYONE in the home! It is a sad day in AMERICA when we are bullied, tricked, harrassed and just annoyed to death by these frivolous, fraud-based, nothing but trash phone calls!  Its pure EVIL and GREED to scam people.  The phone number may be CHASE's but its an UNETHICAL way to get people to call for their sick, greedy purposes.  I WILL NEVER OWN A CHASE CARD NOW!!!  DONT FALL PREY!!!!!!!!

This is a Chase number and while I agree that their message could be better it gave me the exact amount I wrote the check out for and I was expecting the call.  And not only did I get one but I got two calls.

But with anything like this you should always call the main customer service on the account and have them pass you through.  In this case the customer service rep verrified that it was their number and also said that it looked like two messages had been left and let me verrify it with him.

So any of you who ignore this I would suggest you follow up on it (always call the main customer service number) as well as check your credit reports.  I just went through Check Fraud on our main business account and luckily the person who received the questionable check called the bank to verrify that the check was real and the bank stopped it.  But it still meant I had to close accounts and cancel checks in process and order new checks and everything.

So while the banking and credit card industry as a whole doesn't do near enough to prevent fraud Chase has always done an excellent job for me.

I don't have a Chase account, but called to make sure that someone hadn't opened an account for me.  The asked for my Social Security #.  That did it for me.  Don't call this # back.  This is a very clever scam that almost seems legitimate.  It wouldn't surprise me if they have people putting positive reviews on these sites.  If you got a completely legitimate call that went well and everything was fine, why look it up on whocallsme.com?  THAT is what seems fishy to me.

Recieved voicemail yesterday at 7:01PM, caller stated that she was from chase's fruad operations department and that I needed to call back and verify a checking transaction.
I call back the 1-800-766-4908 number and they tried to get me to verify my accout number obviously I refused.
I then called Chase Banking and they did not initiate any such calls concerning my account and that it was a scamming call.
