Received a call from this # on 02/12/08. There was no reply when I answered. I am an Alltel customer so a previous comment stating it came from Alltel may be true.

My daughter keeps receiving calls from someone who says that they are from Alltel.  They say that she should call 1-800-769-0919 because they are experiencing high usage on her account.

The problem is that the account is under my company's name with my name on it.  They never should have contacted my daughter.

Is this a scam?

It's Alltel calling to say you're using a lot of minutes. If you're like me and use your phone for internet and Alltel won't get it through their thick skulls that you have the unlimited internet and it shouldn't take your phone minutes then you'll get called a lot.

The number you people are inquiring about is an Alltel customer service number. They will not answer when you call back because its not a call back number. If you are wondering if its a scam or if your strongly annoyed by the calling, get a plan that is more suitable for you. You or someone on your pan are using way to many min and are going to put you in a bind when you get your next bill. As far as the internet goes call them.....CALL CUSTOMER SERVICE and tell them you are using your phone as a modem and you would like them to quit calling you! However keep in mind they usually are aware that you are using your phone and you could be creating trouble for yourself using other minutes or texting to much.

I been getting call from this number but I don't answer cuz I don't know who is calling me. I hope I am not getting charge for the calls I received.

This is a scam.  I also have alltel and called my contact at Alltel and this is not a number associated with them.

This number has to be a scam! It's not really Alltel! I'm not with Alltel and have never been! They call me anywhere from 4 to 8 times a day and leave messages for an Adam Edister? or something of the sort.  There is no way to get them to stop unless you change you phone number! I am now also getting calls from 425-562-3215. This is a different recording but still asks for the same adam dude!

That phone call has nothing to do with minute usage. It all about data usage. I know because I went through the same thing with alltel in march and i am now going through it wil them again. If they cannot not reach you, they will interupt your service in order to get you to contact them. I say that its because they no longer offer the unlimited everything (including data) for $89 dollars anymore and they are trying to get as many peaople to switch as possible. They insist I use too much of the internet on someone else tower. When they first turned my phone off and made me call them, they told my mother that I was roaming too much and needed to change my package. When they spoke back to me they told me that I wasnt using enough data and this plan would better suite me. I refused to give in to it and they kept turning my service off until I finally changed my plan. Now they are calling me about the other lines on my phone. I never hated alltel before, but I do now. I am disconnecting my serice and they are going to pay the last bill and send $150 for each line on my account for the phones.
