I've been getting this call for some time now from this company, I've never answered the number once, that way I only have to press 7 to delete the voicemail afterwards.

I don't even have any credit :S

This is Portfolio Collection service, collecting a debt...Don't know why they are calling me.. But they are leaving a message on my ans machine as I type this...lol

I have rec'd a number of no ID / no message calls from this number. PORTFOLIO RECOVERY seems to be violating several laws in their calling practices. Look-up section 805 and 806, among others, in the THE FAIR DEBT COLLECTION PRACTICES ACT at http://www.ftc.gov/os/statutes/fdcpa/fdcpact.htm. They call before 9am or after 8pm local, call and just let phone ring without message or ID, etc. In my case I have no known debt and will not respond until they send something in writing to my known (8yr) address of record. They call and ask me to call back at a 800 number. I have perfect credit....must be a mistake. They are constantly harassing me...I live alone, but My son is a Sheriff. They are: PORTFOLIO RECOVERY ASSOC

They have called for years now.  They are looking for my EX sister in law, that never lived here.  I pick up the phone, let them know she never lived here.  I give them her parent's phone number, as well as her sister's.  Yet they still call every day.

They called and asked for my sister's ex-aunt and she has never lived here or even in the same town as I do. The lady told me that she had this number for a message number.....so not true because the ex doesn't even know which city or state that I live in.

They call, ignored.  THEN a call on my CELL with a local area code. How they do this beyond my simple experience. Never a message, just a call, then a local area code call on my cell. BTW, they change the local call after a week or so.

They call my home number. I ignore the. Then a minute later, my cell gets a call with a LOCAL Area Code. WOW. Never a message.

They just called me looking for my X-Brother-in-law. I am now remarried with a completely last name. I have been divorced for over 10 years now. My Next and his brother now live half way across the states then I do. No idea how they linked us together but they keep calling!

i hate these people. they call multiple times a day, looking for the previous owner of my home phone number.  i've told them numerous times, called them back, etc... and they always say they will update their information, but they never do. they don't seem to believe that i don't know the guy. one even asked me "are you sure??"

and they're not the only ones - the guy at this number before me has some wicked credit issues, as i now know.

because it comes up as "unknown caller", we've taken to singing "this is the ring of the Unknown Caller" to the tune of the Doors' "Unknown Soldier".

These collection guys call occasionally, apparently looking for the person who previously had my number. As the last poster said, they ask if I'm "sure" I don't know the guy, and once even asked if I was sure he never lived with me! (Uh.. as if I'm always in the habit of letting strangers into my home to live with me, then forgetting all about it.) I've asked numerous callers to take my number off their lists, which they do grudgingly and not without argument, but then I start getting calls from new agencies, so the cycle continues.

Received unsolicted call from #800-772-1413 regarding an invalid debt.   I am not the person with said debt (same name). Rep. calling was very....bizarre, for lack of a better term, absolutely no respect (earned with the call to me- or given to rep calling in return) Look over your CORE VALUES People.

I've been getting a call from these people for a while.  I had horrible credit years ago and had to buckle down and really work hard to pay off my credit debts.  I paid off two cards and was in the process of paying my last one off when they completly lost any info about me at all.  

they(credit card company) had been direct debiting my account for over a year at a high rate so I could pay it off ASAP but one month they just stopped.  I called them and they didn't have me on file.  They didn't show my name or account anywhere in their system....YAY ME!

fast forward 5....thats right......5 years......

I get a call from 1-800-772-1413 saying that they are collecting a debt and wanting me to settle over the phone.  "No way" I told them.  I asked them to send me proof of their company and comprehensive history before I'd ever speak with them again.  They never sent the papers I asked for so they never get an answer when they call.  

They tried to "settle" the debt for more than it ever was and told me that it was b/c of interest and finance charges since I had "stopped" paying on it.  Funnier than that they tell me that I had been paying every month until 9 months before they called......wrong again.

Big pain in the [***]!

I don't owe them a thing - I have perfect credit.  I receive calls all day and after 9:00 p.m. I'm sick of it.  They are going to make me lose my job.  I have had it with these people.

Spoke to Shawnte or however the hell you spell it or as she likes to be called "ms. allen" as if shes important. Called to resolve the problem and figure out why they are on my credit report but wouldn't give me the time of day because i wasn't MY HUSBAND! These people can f*ck off!

They called my parents house (I have not lived there for 20 years) looking for my ex-husband who never lived there.  I called them and told them this.  We'll see if they ever call back.  The guy was pretty rude on the phone.

where do they get their information?

These people call me at least once a day.   I never answer, but assume they are looking for my EX-husband whom I haven't seen in 8 YEARS. And who has NEVER lived at my current address! (he had horrible credit).  They have even called my parents, who turned them into the MO State Attorney's office.

I receive, but do not respond to, calls from this number from early morning (8 a.m.) to early evening. I never respond to calls from unknown persons/enterprises, but the frequency of the calls is irritating.

I just received a call from this number.  I dropped the phone and called back, not knowing who it was.  When I spoke to someone, they could not tell me why they had called when I gave them my telephone number and name.  They asked for my social security number and I would not give it to them.  Who are they and what do they want?
