- CD| 2 repliesThey are calling regarding Sears card payment issues. When you don't hear someone on the other line, wait for 20 seconds or so because its an automated dialing system, so it takes a while to connect you to the person on the other end.
- Caller: Sears
- EXASPERATED| 1 replyThis is insane.
Can't these people leave messages? I am overseas and for the small amount they are claiming as payment, I thinnk they could tone down the 5 to 8 calls a day!
Good to know who this number belongs to. - just as exasperated!I totally agree - small amount owing and LEAVE A Message.
- MarilynIf it is Sears why are they not leaving a message.
- marilynIt's a collection agency working for Sears, Visa, etc.
- CSI (Can't Stand Idiots)I've been out of the country for more than two months, and yes, I owed them a payment - I forgot. But it was less than $100, and if they'd simply left a message, it would have been paid weeks ago....
- get educated| 7 repliesLadies & Gents...PLEASE read up on The Privacy Act. Banks are not allowed to leave detailed messages wither on answering machines or with anyone other than the primary card holder. And for all these other people that have small balnaces...why not make your payment on time. You wouldn't be getting collection calls.
- nice to knowNice to know who this number belongs to. They have been calling me about 10 times a day no message left.
- AnonymThey called me 2 days ago and I told them I would make my payment on a specific day, they have called me 2 time since then!!!! Before the day promised even!!!! Jerks
- Anonym| 1 replyTo GET EDUCATED you don't know what your talking about my account isn't in arrears and i am still getting calls from these jerks so much for "make you payment and you wouldn't getting collection calls"
- in the blackI haven't used my Sears card in over a year, I don't have a balance and they're calling me 6X a day. I have call display and choose not to pickup, but I can see they've called.
The only thing I can think is they sent me a new card and I haven't activated it our used it. *shudder* they must be wondering what's wrong with me since they're willing to give me money(credit) and I'm not taking it ;)
Not everyone wants to live off of credit (surprise, surprise) - creditoraus rex| 2 repliesthere is a privacy agreement issue which precludes them from leaving messages in detail about your personal financial delinquency, do you really want your kids hearing that on the voicemail?
- in the redPrivacy laws is one thing, calling and leaving a message to say "This is Sears calling to talk to <blank>, please call us back" instead of calling several times a day.
Isn't there a law about how many times a creditor can call someone in a month?- Caller: Unknown
- Anonymclaimed they were calling from Chase Bank. I see here that it is Sears, but when I told the woman my wife doesn't have an account with Chase she said "I'm not going to argue with you and hung up". I know beyond a shadow of a doubt our Sears account is up to date.
- Caller: Chase bank
- TJust cancel the Sears card ... they no longer headlock you into using their credit card because they now do accept VISA, Mastercard, and others. And, you can get value VISAs for better rate than what Chase is charging on theirs without the hassle. Never had a problem with the card until Chase took over the lending ... now they will hound you for a $10.00 payment.
- me| 1 replygrow up if u owe u need to pay thank god u didnt borrow from a shark u wouldnt hv fingers to type ur sorry excuse for not paying u might not be mature or responsible enough to borrow next time ask mom or dad
- Drake BauerWell , I have not have a Sears Credit card since 1998. I closed down the account way back then and I think there might have been a balance of under 5$ left. Never heared from this since.
They called this morning, left a message to call them back. I did but they don't have me in their Database .... What the @!#$ ? Hahahaha . I had to find this site to find out that they were a collection agency.... This is a complete waste of time ... - Not me| 2 replies@me Thanks kid, here is your two cents back. If you had bothered to type it properly then it might have been taken a little more seriously.
Yes, there are laws for how many times they can call per day, week, and month. The easiest is just to forward a redacted copy of your phone bill showing more than three calls a week to the CRTC. Black out all the personal info, and circle the calls from them in Red. After they start getting hit with $5000 fines they will limit it to one call per day, and three per week, like the law says.
As for paying on time, it has nothing to do with them calling 6X in one day. If it did then those that owe more would get more calls, and yet they do not.
After getting harassed with 5 calls, I told them that the massive $0.45 that was outstanding on my balance would be paid off in 24 hours when I went to Sears to file a formal complaint and cancel my card. That stopped the harassment for me.
I also agree with the above mention that you can use Real Credit Cards there now, so there is no reason for a Sears CC. The proper CC companies follow the law, and do not harass (at least until you miss more than one payment). - why replies to CDIf this is sears not sure why I am getting phone calls. I owe no one money!!!
- *?*?*?*| 9 repliesIf they call you is because your late in your paments, and first of all they are not harassing you. They need to do there job's and that is to collect the money that you owe. Yes I agree sometimes they call for a small balance of 10.00$ but who cares you still owe them 10.00$. Yes it's a small balance but hey you owe them money. Put your self in there shoes, that there job's to call why B*tch at them when your late in your paments. It's you job to do your paments every month. Yes it's a atomatic dial that call the people who owe money but hey it happens sometimes that it may call you more then one time a day. It's like a computer sometimes your computer doesn't work well but hey sometimes there dialer doesn't work well and they have problem's with it. It's not like matter of life and death when they call you. If you do your paments on time you would'nt get any call from Sears in the first place. If you know that you didn't get your staments or your away for a month or more well it's your job to call them and let them know that you didn't recevied a statement or you could make a pament on a specific date.
