- L| 1 replyIf you receive calls from this number, it is recommended that you call your local bank associated with the debit/ATM card. This is a legit company calling because of a curious purchase made on your card. They "warm" the card [not quite freeze it, but put it on hold - if my understanding is correct] until you certify the purchase. I had purchased a ticket for something in Europe from the USA. You can call the 1-800-830-1925, but it's better to just get in touch with your local bank if you can.
- J| 3 repliesDo not listen to the above comment. I got a call from this number and immediatly called my bank and they told me it was a scam. DO NOT LISTEN TO ABOVE COMMENT!!!!
- DKM| 1 replyIt is legitimate. I called my bank and they verified it. It is a Risk Management Fund and when the bank called them, they were able to verify it. I spoke with these people and they are on the up and up.
- Caller: Risk Management
- Michaelit is not a scam. I told them my phone number. They told me my name, and my card number and told me the recent activivity on my card and it was legit. Then they told me the activity that was strange, which was not legit. CALL NOW
- SusanThis number is legitimate. I recieved a call from them regarding my ING Mastercard Debit card. They were asking about a $9.10 transaction that they believed to be a "test" transaction to see if the number worked. The charge on the account was from "Link Systems".
They had my first and last name, and they never asked for any account or SS numbers. They only asked if I had authorized the purchase. When I told them no, they advised me to call ING immediately to cancel my card and request a new one.
The woman I spoke to at ING confirmed that Risk Management Center at 800-830-1925 is legitimate.- Caller: Risk Management
- T Brown - So CalI just got a call from this ph # and immediately got online to see if it was a scam of some sort. Seeing these comments I felt safe enough to call them. It was a legitimate company that was alerted of a large purchase that was being processed on my card. The purchase was valid, but I was comforted knowing that my bank (or this company) was looking out to be sure I wasn't being ripped off.
- Sceptical| 1 replyScam or not - I'm not calling them back. By calling them back they gather more information from you without you knowing or realizing it. Go online to check all your credit cards and if there is no suspicious actiity, then there is no need to call them back. My bank, and/or my credit card company would personally call me if there is something wrong - it's happened before. They don't have a third party do their job.
Food for thought!- Caller: NOT PROVIDED
- relievedthe bank said This is a legit company. It is called Metavante Corp. headquartered in Milwaukee Wisconsin according to a Google search. The only info that was asked was the phone number that was called. However, the bank said that it is not neccesary to call them back becuase the bank can handle anything they were calling about. It was however useful because this company is open all the time. After I ignored the call, my card stopped working. suspecting the two events were connected I called back. there was a charge they were suspicious of might be fraud. fortunately not, and they turned my card back on. I don't see how they could have collected info on me since all they ask for was the phone number.
- Caller: Metavante
- elvis313it's legit, I'm an ING customer and there was a fraudelent transaction.
- LindaI received a call this afternoon (Labor Day). Same information as above, "we are calling on behalf of your financial institution about your debit card", a recording with the number to call back. I read this site, but since I would never give them my debit card number or personal information, other than my name and phone number, I wanted to call. (My bank called me a year ago and someone in Canada had stolen my number and tried to charge over $1700 at Tiger Electronics in Canada". So it is important to take these seriously). When I called, they identified my bank, and said they were wanted to validate some charges. Well, about 20-30 minutes before the call, I had donated $20 to the Red Cross. THAT was the charge in question! But if you don't respond, they have the option of either running the charge OR freezing your account, which is not good if nothing improper has happened!

- ChadListen people its for real, its the Visa Risk Management, they monitor visa cards for all banks, they look for fraud charges and suspicious activities. They caught a charge on mine for $3 to a H Group made at 1:58 am, unless I was sleep walking I didnt make that charge!! I did call my bank and they confirmed the phone # that called me 1-800-830-1925 its definitely a good idea to call them back. The only info they ask for is the phone # their system called and your name they tell you the rest of the info ie: bank name etc. These people are awsome, keep up the good work protecting my credit cards!!!
- JosepiYes it is legit. They called me and left a message which did sound funny as my bank was not mentioned. I did not return call and forgot about it until card was rejected at supermarket. They wanted to verify a $10 internet purchase. They are a 3rd party verification service for banks. Called and card was reactivated with young woman attending being very nice and sweet.
- Caller: metavante
- LarryThis is perfectly legit. I missed the call on my cell phone and, when I called back, I gave them ONLY my cell phone number and they pulled up the transaction I had made about 20 minutes earlier.
The problem was that I entered the incorrect address corresponding with the credit card - shipping address did not match what I had entered into the merchant's address fields.
They were searching for fraudulent activity and I THANK THEM FOR THAT!!!!- Caller: Medavante
- booI'm buying a house AND a car so I'm making transactions that don't fit my normal patterns. Then I get this unidentified call asking me to call some 1-800 number. Being normally suspicious about such things anyway (and eSPECially since I am moving such big amounts around), I 'Googled' the 1-800 number which led me to this website. There's enough info here to make me think the phone call was legit. So I called my card issuers (NOT 800-830-1925). Apparently ING/Mastercard had noticed the drastic difference in my recent transactions and had frozen the card. Five minutes later, the whole thing got cleared up. The only thing I wonder at this point is whether this somehow got 'reported' to the credit bureaus and affected my score . . . . Hmmmmmmm.......
- Bwell how about this gets cleared up....I work for this 800 number in question. we are a legit company that monitors for multiple financial institutions nation wide. If you have recieved a call from us we have placed a temp. restriction on your card in order to secure your funds if indeed someone else does have your information. you may contact you financial institution or us. all we ask for is your phone number area code first or your name.
- Caller: Metavante Corporation
- SCAMThis number is a SCAM! I called my bank and they had no clue who these people where and had no record of any transaction that had taken place. They told me it was a scam and to never call anyone back concerning my bank account unless it is for a fact my bank. I did how ever check my online statement which had a pending charge of $1.01 the previous day. I had how ever taken a screen shot of the transaction! I showed my bank and they are now investigating.
- not a scamAll they asked for was my phone number. Someone was trying to use my card in brazil. they closed my card and advised me to call my bank. There was also a $1.01 charge that was attempted on my account. Apparently criminals "test" the card information before using it for larger fraud.
- GregI got a call from this number and called them after checking this site. They told me about a purchase of $5.22 made on my account to Bed Bath and Beyond's website that was declined. I called my bank and (after some searching for 15 minutes) they told me that this purchase had been attempted on my old debit card that had been canceled 2 weeks prior. If you get a call from them call back. It sounds kind of fishy at first but it is 100% legit.
- AndrewThis probably isn't kosher, but I just wanted to put my two cents in because I actually am a fraud analyst for the company in question. All we do is monitor credit/debit cards for possible fraudulent activity. When we see activity that doesn't make sense, we call and try to verify if the activity actually was legit. If you -are- getting a call from us, then your card has already been temporarily blocked, so it is in your best interest to call us, or your financial institution, back as soon as possible. We will never ask for anything but your telephone number!
Personally, I saved over $700,000 worth of at-risk funds last month, so we are only here to keep you safe. - RobDefinitely legit - I never had to tell them anything other than my phone number. They mentioned who I banked with and saw a charge that they wanted to verify that I had made. I told them that I had, and that was the end of it. It was very professional and I'm very happy that banks use these risk management firms to head off fraudulent charges!
