they call me constantly...sometimes every half hour...i informed wells fargo who i was and they checked, i do not have, nor have i ever had an account with them, yet they still call for someone i have never even heard of.  even now, months later...surely we could all get together and for some sort of class action harrassment suite.  hmmm...

They have their phones on auto-dialer and they never remove a number from the account it is listed on unless you have an attorney send a letter to them to cease and desist... and sometimes not even then.  They get around the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act by putting a clause in their account agreements that the customer agrees to keep a valid phone number on file with them for contact, and that they may call the number as provided.  When you tell them they have a wrong number, they assume you're lying.  You may not be who they were calling, but they figure the right person shares that number or residence and when you get tired of them calling, you'll have their customer cooperate and take the calls.  It's idiotic.

To sue, each person has to keep a running list of calls to your number(s), file a telephone harassment report with each local police department, and once a court case is initiated, have the court subpoena your phone account to verify the incoming numbers.  Most people won't bother.

In this digital age, if you get a phone that lets you program different ring tones for phone numbers (like cell phones and digital spread spectrum phones, you can add the phone number to the phone address book and set the ringer to silent.  You can track the call list using caller ID at your convenience, but the ringer won't bother you and they'll hang up without leaving a message.  Messages are voice verifications that they called - and they no longer want to leave a voice trail because it is too easy to use in court with a subpoena for the phone records.

They are calling me from 2 different 800 numbers nonstop all day every day, even Sunday.  Never leave a message.

They should get a life.....I am thinking of changing my phone number...but with my luck, they have someone with that number also.

I just had someone by the name of Colleen call me, all she said was that i need to "get back to her" by the end of the day and then left this 800-832-0202 phone number. She did not ask for either myself or my wife by name, so if this is a scam i would please like to know. Thank you.

I sent them an e-mail and asked them to stop calling my home because they had the wrong number. They were calling 20 times a day from 2 different numbers, from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm, on Sundays, holidays and when I told them they had the wrong number the operator called me a liar and told me she had talked to the person she was trying to contact less than 3 days earlier... which was a lie because I am the only one at my house and in no way could you confuse my voice with a male and they were asking for a Richard.

2 days after the email was sent, I received a response saying it would take around 60 days for my number to be removed from their calling list, but I never got another call.

Keeps calling and calling and calling............I returend the call and told them I was going to file a law suit for my cellphone bill their running up everytime they call and I answer to tell them the same answer over and over again.... u have the wrong number.  Also, law suit of harrassment.  did that today so hopefully it'll work... we'll see!!!  Their on my last nerve!!

I receive calls from this number every 1/2 hour almost all day long into the night.  They never leave a message.  When they don't get an answer on my home number they immediately dial my cell phone number.

maybe just pay your bills? thats an idea. then they dont call.

OR if it actually is a wrong #... stay on the phone... explain to the person the situation ....instead of being a jerk and sounding like a total moron.  if you are rude and curse at them they are going to think you are lying... DUH!

so be a decent human and act like an adult... that should take care of the problem.

For those who complain, and it actually isn't your number. Don't me an artard and say "Wrong number" then hang up. Stay on the line for a few minutes to verify the number. If it's a new # for you they'll be happy to take it out. Seriously, if you have the time to sit and monitor how many times they call a day, you should have a little bit of time while YOU'RE NOT WORKING to talk to them.

Otherwise pay your bills on time and they should have no reason to call you.

you know there is a reason they call so much im sure if you loaned out so much money to someone and they stopped making pmts you would blow up their phon too...so instead of wasting time on the internet complaining about these phon calls how about we pay out bills on time everytime and there will be no worries. If it is a wrong # please be so kind to stay on the line for a moment...chances are it was an error and for that an apology will be issued. Howver it is not thier fault you are getting alls so dont take it out on them these people are only doing their jobs!

In the past 3 weeks in pulling up phone records for our company we received 34 calls from this number. Our company is solvent and current on our payables.

Well Dave, then your employees aren't. I'd advise them to stop giving out your business number.

I am tired of all these people on here saying "just be nice" and "act like a human being" and they will take you off. That is BULL [***]. I have had them calling me since February at my office (direct line by the way) since I took my current job. They are calling for the guy that has my desk and got laid off. I have talked nicely, I have to I am at work. I can't be screaming at someone in my office. I have tried, and tried, and sent letters, nothing works.

Then ask for a supervisor. Or tell transfer them to human resources for your company.

People who feel the need to come on here and [***] at people to "pay your bills" and "be a decent human being" need to GTFO! I am so sick of [***] thinking they are king [***] and their life is so damn perfect. You know what? Unforeseen circumstances happen to "decent human beings" which may make it impossible to pay a bill(s), which yes has happened to me and before all the mess I've been through I have always paid my bills on time and had wonderful credit. It can happen to anyone even you a$$holes who think you're better then everyone else. It wouldn't surprise me either if the people saying such are the one's with the grimy job of credit collections.

ok praying4miracle....you say unforeseen circumstances happen to "decent human beings" and that you happen to be one of them that is life...dont you think those people are trying to understand and why get mad at them when your the one who maxxed out whatever or fell behind on whatever...you probly signed a contract with them to pay and when you dont they will call...you should really read the fine print before you take money from someone...you can cuss these people all you want they didnt do this to you they didnt fire you or make whoever die or whatever your problem they didnt do it!!!! you did so accept responsibility and take care of your problems...besides these people calling for one just doing their jobs and second...people like you keep them employed...and for three we all got problems honey dont think you are any different...have you tried listening to what they are saying or are you just eluding the phone calls because you dont want to face whats happened chances are they have some ideas for you or even can offer some help...trust me been there done that it does you no good to yell at them or cuss them...
