called about a package delivery needing the acceptor be present with picture ID for proof

received the same call that jess did.  called back and they stated they were looking for yum food services

they said that they were UPS. they are a clloection agency. ( thanks Google) I have also reporter this to UPS

I just received a call from a guy named Dan looking for my son as he is with ups and has a package for him and he must be here with a picture I.D. and signature for the delivery.

I called the number back and a recording came on saying that they are away from the desk, please leave a name and number.

They called my mothers cell phone looking for my husband, called back, got the same message.  Had no idea who it was, thanks everyone for the help on letting us know!  Going to report this to the BBB and UPS for false info.

I got a postcard in the mail telling me to call 800-834-3359 to schedule a delivery time for a package.  There is no return address, but the postmark is from Phoenix, AZ.  The "fake" company name is Package Express, INC operating out of Oakland, Denver, Chicago, NYC and Miami.  Phoenix, AZ was not listed at all.  The package tracking number is the extention number, no legitimate company has a four digit tracking number.  Hope this info helps.

got a call from dan saying they didnt know my address to send a package, couldnt tell me who the package was from, said i had to be home to show id and the box was the size of a shoe box...

I just got a postcard in the mail today. No phone call. I don't accept calls from 800,866 or any number I don't know.  It said to call and say when I am available for delivery.  I knew something was strange as we were home when it said they supposedly stopped by. And what delivery company mails a postcard saying they missed you, they leave a sticky note on the door.

Got a postcard in the mail from Package Express, Inc. No such company exists. Any time a package can not be delivered it is sent to a distribution center where the RECIPIENT must go.  These are tactics used by private investigators and collection agency's for skip tracing purposes.  I tried doing a search of the 8008343359 without the extension and found nothing attached which means that it is a trap line. If you use the extension provided the phone number, address, and city from which you are calling is all recorded and that the address the postcard was sent to is valid.  Hope this helps others who get this same scam in the future.
