They called me claiming to be Chase fraud alert. I called the real Chase credit card number from the back of my card and they had never used the 800-839-8396 number nor was there any record of a Chase rep. calling me.

Think this is legit.  They left me a voice mail about having placed a travel alert on my Chase card, which is exactly what I did a day ago.  Also, the default action was to do nothing if I didn't think there was anything suspicious.  Still, no reason not to just call the number on the back of your card to verify.

Yes, this is legit.  It is indeed Chase fraud alert due to me placing a travel alert on your account.  However, when I called, the regular call center knew nothing about it until I was transferred to the fraud department.  They are just making sure it's legit.  Not sure whether they do this ever time you set a travel alert (it's the first time doing it for me).  Nice to have the added security.

Googled the (800)839-8396 and was not sure if legit.  Called number on back of card. Chase people not very helpful.  They have no clue if the above number is one of theirs or not.  He did indicate that if Chase reached out to a customer they would note the file.  I told them to forget any travel alerts, that I would use a different card.  I had previously notified them that I was going to travel and use the Chase card.

My son was actually using the card and he was taking a trip. That is why my Chase had not information of them contacting me.  My Chase was not in service so I thought it was fraudulent. I still need to ask my son about it.

I called my customer service number and they confirmed that Chase had been calling to confirm info about travel abroad to Asia in a couple of days so it was a legit call.

This number is not, repeat, NOT, part of Chase Bank.  I contacted the local branch and the corporate office to verify that.  Like most Chase account holders, I do have fraud protection on my checking account, but they confirmed there had been no questionable activity on my account.  This was directly through Chase, not this number.  Also, I've done a little digging, and found that most of the individuals posting on this and other websites reporting this number as "legitimate" appear to be employed by the individual or company responsible for this phishing expedition.  Therefore, disregard their comments and contact Chase directly, not through this number.

Again, this is NOT a number that connects to Chase, and anyone who states otherwise is part of this scam.  PERIOD.

Chase called to confirm a travel alert that I had place on the card the prior day.  This is legit.

SCAM. This number IS NOT from Chase bank. Their message sounds legit, but they are not. DO NOT return their call. Call numbers on back of card.

This number could be legit however chase customer service reps should know this number because when I called the customer service toll free number at the back of my chase card the rep wasn't helpful at all having no knowledge of this number. (notified them of my travel plans and the call was about it.)
