Bank of America Home Loans called in response to a mortgage inquiry I made on the B of A website.

Called yesterday.  Claimed to be Steve Day of Bank of America Home Loans.  Left a call-back number: 800-781 4104.

To my surprise, it's legit.  It really is Bank of America Home Loan Department calling to relay information.  There's a first time for everything!

Phishing scam from people claiming to be Bank of America. Gal that called herself "Lacey" asking me personal information about my account(s). Don't fall for it.

Called last week saying he was w/ TCB Bank regarding some home loans (I couldn't understand his description), not a sales call & it was important I call him back between 7 AM & 4 PM MST - he also gave me a 7 digit extension number.  I didn't answer it.  Then today, he called again, except this time, he said he was from Bank of America.  Obviously, he is fishing for a bank you might have a relationship with.  So I decided to call BOA to verify, and they didn't recognize the phone number and also said their extensions were never that long.  A total scam - don't get taken in by it.

I have had this call twice, same message. Said they represent Bank of America, not a sales call, call us back immediately, etc.  i called the phone number associated with my mortgage on my monthly billing.  The Bank of America rep could not find the number they left in their register and knew nothing about it.  She put me on hold and called the reply number.  She said she let it ring 14 times with no answer.  She said that's a good indicator that this is a scam (her caller i.d. probably said Bank of America or looked official, so the scammers didn't pick up).

Got this call again today.  I'll ignore it.  

Received phone call  from 800-850-7655 ON Fri. 5-30-2014 at 6:45 p.m. & again at 6:46 p.m. -

Caller said that he was calling from Bank of America about our home equity line of credit.

I did not feel safe talking to this man & hung up on him the first time and he called right back.  I reported this call to our personal banker at our local Bank of America branch as being suspicious.  She checked and said that she could not find out anything about the phone number.  She said that if we received anymore phone calls from this number, to tell them to call her, our personal banker.  She gave me her card & told me to put it next to my phone at home.

These sites always drive me crazy. Received a flyer and called about a loan before I realized it could be a scam. Talked with a loan officer who sent me an email from a Bank of America email address with this number with a 7 digit extension. I went to the BofA website, called the home loan number and entered that extension. Came up with the voice mail from the same guy I had talked to earlier. I even double checked the NMLS number and it tracks back to a BofA loans officer, the same one who I talked to.

BTW all BofA extensions are 7 digits. I did a contract up in Charlotte and they were all 7 digits long.

800-850-7655 - This Is Bank of America Home Loans /  Equity Division - If you receive a call from this number you probably have an existing Line of Credit that is getting ready to expire.

Called Bank of America loan/equity/mortgage and searched phone number 800-850-7655 and 800-781-4104. Neither numbers are associated in their system. Person that called Roy Olson extension 1561829.

Call from "Jonathan," supposedly Bank of America.  Asked for return call to different number than the caller ID:  1 800 781 4014 x1563590.  Right.  Not buyin' it.
