- jones1| 5 repliesOMG people are pretty stupid i must admit, sorry. It is US BANK 800-872-2625! It is their collections department. They work on an auto dialer, it's a machine that calls you and its a person on the other end. It shows up a 503 area code because they are located in Portland OR! I know for a FACT because i've had calls from them because i forgot to pay my car note one month and sure enough they called me and it was true. IF you go onto us banks website you can get their 1-800-US Banks number and ask a rep to give you the number to collections or even transfer you to collections and ask them their number guarantee it is the same 800-872-2525 number!
It they are calling you and you don't have a us bank account someone probably had your number or there was a typo in their system and its on someone else account! They don't do sales calls from this number my cousin use to work there. oh and the grace period is NOT A SECOND DUE DATE lol ive been told that, pay your bills on time people.- Caller: US Bank

- Sue| 1 replyBBB Alerts Consumers to Potential Bank Scam
The Better Business Bureau today issued a warning about phone messages allegedly originating with US Bank. The messages instruct consumers to call an 800 number because there has been an alert placed on their bank account.
Instead of a normal banking customer service system, which asks callers to walk through numeric or voice prompts to provide service, the phone number, 800-872-2625, tells callers they have reached US Bank and a customer service representative will be with them shortly and then connects callers with a person who identifies themselves as a representative of US Bank.
During a BBB test call to the 800 number, the representative refused to provide any information about what type of alerts or activity the initial message referred to unless specific account information was provided. When the BBB caller asked to speak with a supervisor, the alleged bank representative again refused unless specific account information was first provided even though the BBB caller explained the reasons for concern.
A subsequent call to US Bank customer service verified that there was no alert on the account in question and that their customer service department would have automatically allowed the caller to speak with a supervisor upon request. A call to the US Bank Fraud Alert department also confirmed that the 800 number, 800-872-2625, was not a US Bank number and that the call was a scam.
The phony call center number is a close variation of the real US Bank customer service number, 800-872-2657, which could easily confuse customers into thinking it, is legitimate.
If you receive a text or phone message claiming to be from any bank or financial institution, the BBB advises you to immediately contact the customer service number on your banking card or statement- Caller: 800-872-2625

- Caller: us bank
- Eric| 1 replyVery professional scam for identity theft. Google it. And the responses that indicate this is really us bank are part of the scam. Call the 800 number on the back of your cc if you dont believe me
- Caller: Us bank but really fraud
- Eric replies to EricOne other note ... I called the number ... it appears the software is intelligent enough, or the representative that initially answers the call is smart enough to know that you are playing him (or her) that they will actually forward you to the REAL US Bank in order to perpetuate the fraud. e..g. if you enter in a wrong credit card number during the prompting, they will forward you to the real US Bank number. So, probably some people posting here did end up speaking with real US Bank people in the end, although the first number is a definite scam to get cc numbers and personal information for identity fraud.
- DeeThis is a phishing call. They use a number similar to US Bank's. They ask for identifying information and tell you something is urgent that requires attention. I happen to work for an anti-fraud department for a major bank and know someone would never call you and ask for information. I looked up the real number online and asked if something required attention and was informed they would never call me and ask for this info. They said it was phishing and to ignore. There was nothing onmy account that needed attention as my lease is up to date. Always call the number on the website, not something else. Don't always believe your caller ID!
- Caller: SCAM
- ThatGuyYouKnowThis is rather strange. This number appears on the call log on my TV, a service available from my cable provider, a rather cool feature that shows me the ID of an incoming call . It does not however appear on my telephone caller ID. Also my phone does not ring when it appears and if I answer the phone when it appears on screen I get a dial tone. Strange? The calls show up 5 or 6 in a row just minutes apart. I have spoken to tech support at the cable company and the agent said that was weird, that all my equipment and signals diagnosed as normal. He said he would pass me up to second tier support and that I might hear back in 48 hours. No reply so far. Any Ideas? Is this happening to any one else?
