I got an email from Bank of America.

I just called Bank of America (800-432-1000) and they said the e-mail is a fraud.  They asked me to forward the bogus e-mail to abuse@bankofamerica.com.

I got the same email and what makes it funny is that my account has been closed for years due to over draf fees. So right there I new it was fake.

I received a BofA phishing email today asking me to verify my account information.   The phone number for more info was listed as 800-887-5749.      

Even though I suspected this to be a phishing scam, I called the number (from my cell phone and blocked the caller id) so that I could quiz them and play with them a bit.   To my frustration they just kept me in the "your call will be answered soon" loop!       The email wanted me to confirm my credit card info.........I don't have a credit card with BofA so it was easy to spot this scam.   Just wanted to have a little fun with these losers and make them think they had a live fish on the line for a few minutes!   : )

I called the real BofA number and reported the incident and forwarded the email to abuse@bankofamerica.com for their review.     BEWARE..........banks never ask you to verify information like this online.    ALWAYS call the number you were given at account opening.    NEVER call a bank phone number given to you in an email no matter how legit it looks and NEVER CLICK ON THE WEBSITE LINKS THEY PROVIDE.Reply !

Bank Of America will never, NEVER email you and ask you for your personal information.

18008875749 is not Bank Of America's phone number either!

I don't know about emails but 800-887-5749 is a Bank of America number, I called the number, spoke with a rep then called Bank of America main number and they had a record of the person I was speaking with accessing my account including name and location correct.

Not Bank of America - fraud!!!

Received call but did not answer it.  Then I received a voice message alert - when I listened to it - there was nothing recorded so I've deleted and blocked the number.

Received a phone call, I answered it. The caller was speaking in a foreign language. I blocked the call!

This number actually left a vm but it was all in Chinese. My friend that can speak Chinese says it was someone saying to send money to help release her. Don’t fall for it. I blocked this number

The message was using mandarin and just told me that my boa account closed.
