- Scam Alertleft message on my office line like it was interrupted so their "name" wasn't given. Again, said not a sales call, but left this number which I knew didn't sound like belonged to any of the credit cards or banks I use. Called to check it out - again, no name of business given (BIG CLUE AGAIN) - "just enter your account number or use out automated system". I knew my instincts were right when the name of the business wasn't mentioned. How do we stop these creeps from targeting and scamming unsuspecting elderly or otherwise?
- Caller: not given
- mikethis was a call regarding my unpaid express clothing bill that i had. this is the bank that i had to deal with the lady was to put it for lack of a better words a major [***] even called my mom a liar over the phone.
- Called in San DiegoSimilar story: Numerous voicemails left at my unlisted cell phone number by a female with British accent. She said she's calling from World Financial on a personal matter, not a sales call. She leaves a call-back number 800-888-4134. I always deleted the voicemails without calling back, until yesterday, when out of curiosity I called the 800 number. The automated system asked for my account number, which of course I did not have. Then it asked for my Social Security Number, and I hung up. This is a SCAM.
- RicoGot the same call. Just spent 20 minutes on the phone trying to report it to the FBI - that was even MORE frustrating. I went through 3 offices in 20 minutes on my CELL phoe. I finally gave up. and you wonder why we are in the shape we are in!
