Beware, Xcel SCAMMERS!!!
Left a message saying the were Xcel and needed to speak to me immediately. I called back and got voicemail so I called Xcel directly. My account was not late which confirmed this was a scam call.

Just got a call from the same #... same story. They rambled off a account # then transferred me to a rep. They asked for my name (i didn't give it), then they asked for last 4 of social (and that's when I hung up). Called XCEL shortly after, and my account was not passed due, and the account number they rattled off wasn't anywhere close to mine. Reminder to NEVER give any personal information to someone who called you. If you call them, then fine. but NEVER share name, DOB, last 4 of social, etc.

I called the xcel number from their website and the phone number is for west asset management which is xcel's 3rd party collection agency. Xcel confirmed it is legitimate. If they are contacting you and your bill is not behind, contact xcel, more over contact a lawyer because they use an auto dial system to cellphones which is illegal in Colorado and is worth 1k in fines.

My excel bill is paid in full. This is a scam, so why does excel let it continue?

They called saying they were excel energy and it was an emergency before I could do anything they hung up. I was worried called the number but I knew immediately it was a scam. I called excel energy who confirmed it was a scam.

Mine was from Excel. In my case, it was legit. I moved for Denver and still owed them money. Called them to verify and paid the bill through excels website.

I just spent 20 minutes on the phone with Excel Energy. I let them listen to the message and there are several things that are wrong. First off, this message lists their hours and they do not coordinate with Excel's actual 24 hour service. They do not have a number 800-895-2333 registered to their company. THIS IS A SCAM PEOPLE - QUIT PROTECTING THESE IDIOTS BY LISTING THAT THIS IS A LEGIT #!!!

No msg left on mine. I do NOT call them back, unless details are left, at least identifying the caller.

This is the excel energy credit recovery department......nothing else.If you are getting calls from this phone number you must owe excel energy money and it would be in your best intreasted to talk to them because the phone call is what they do BEFORE they come out and disconnect your service, even if you can not pay your bill talk to them and try to work it out by making payment arrangements because if they disconnect it it cost you a lot more than just what you owe to get it back on.

I just recieved a call from this number. No message when I called back it says xcel energy. I called the regular xcel number and they did confirm this is their collection dept. Because I had a past due Bill even though I paid it yesterday it is auto dialer and they said calls will still come through until their system is updated. This is a legitnumber for xcel if your not comfortable with it call their regular number and they will transfer you.

This is a legit Xcel number. I called back and they gave me my past due amount which exactly matched my bill I had in front of me.

These people are calling me several times a day from different phone numbers.  They are scammers and need to be stopped!

Called xcel directly (not with the number in the message) and it appears this is a legit collection agency for xcel. My bill was not passed due. For some reason they had my wife's phone number tied to another account. Xcel removed her number from the other account. As always, never call the number a supposed company leaves on a message. ALWAYS, look up the number for your financial institution from a trusted source (phone book or company website) and call to inquire about such phone calls. If it is a scam, you will know for sure.

Left me a VM. The message didn't sound right but I called the number back anyways. Was on hold for 5 minutes and the xcel commercials didn't sound like authentic PR messaging from a major utility. I decided to google the number. Hung up.

Claiming to be Xcel energy.  Want your credit card info.  Scammers need to be brought to justice!

You are incorrect. I called them back, and they are in fact contractors from Xcel. They had all my information and it is correct.

This is the collection agency hired by Xcel Energy in 8 States. If your bill is up for disconnection or late or past due and you are NOT in a weather rule season, they are attempting to collect this amount. This is their way as a last resort prior to rolling a truck to term your services. Unless you want price increases, this is cheaper than hiring employees to make these calls. Easy, pay your bill on time=no call.
