I don't know this person and or anyone with a similar name. I would like this to stop. - annonamousRubin & Raine 446 Rt. 35 South Eatontown, New Jersey 07724. Telephone: 800-899-7246 A recievables management company.

- AnonymousThey're a medical collection company. Offices in New Jersey and Colorado.
- MoiWhat's really hilarious about these bozos is they're trying to collect for fees for a test I never had. I told them they'd get their money when I got my test results. They say this test was ordered by "my doctor" and gave the name of a doctor I'd never heard of much less laid eyes on. I'm thinkin' maybe I ought to sue this doctor for malpractice given that he ordered this test and never gave me the results or followed up -- then maybe they'd get a clue!
- TANYAYou call them by 800-899-7246 and explain that they are calling by wrong number. By law they should not call you again. You can do it in writing and send a cease and desist letter to them by certified mail to be legal. There are plenty of samples for these kind of letters on internet. If they call after that, then just fill out the electronic application in Federal Court and you will get $$$$$$$ settlement
- Caller: Rubin and Raine

- OffTopicA little bit off topic, this company seems to have expanded into snail mail phishing for people who would rather make a payment on a phantom debt than get into a 'legal contest' - should be arrested for this kind of thing. The best part is on their website:
http://www.rubinandraine.com/
* Reimbursement audits can be conducted on:
- zero-balance claims
So they seem to purchase not only existing debt but records of past medical services rendered that are at zero-balance, and then come up with creative new ways to bill against that medical event. The website essentially says it straight up.
"
Because of the complex reimbursement formulas, a large percentage of managed care agreements are underpaid to providers, representing hundreds of millions of dollars in lost revenue. In many cases, services for which additional payment is due may not even appear on your billing, or seemingly insignificant items, for which an additional reimbursement entitlement exists, may have been discounted as part of a contractual allowance."
Scumbags. - RandiOffTopic, a lot of people I know are getting snail mail letters from them. They are "trying to collect" for a local hospital that closed 1 year ago! My mother received 2 letters from Rubin & Raine in 2 days (for the same "bill"), but with a different phone number (866-350-5482). Numerous calls to that phone went unanswered. Finally, a woman called us, was extremely rude & hung up on my mother!
Unfortunately, someone we know got one, and sent them a check.
We are looking into contacting the BBB & Consumer Affairs. - StacyOn the topic of the "letter" from Rubin and Raine. We have received 2 letters one for my husband from services in 1998 and one for his deceased grandmother, who passed 10 + years ago for services dating back to 1990. Crazy! A friend got some for her deceased father and his company called Rubin and Raine, who basically told them that they are billing for the difference between what the actual hospital bill was and what the insurance paid. These letter are sent knowing that there are people out there that will not question this and just pay it. This is wrong. And when I finally got someone on the phone at Rubin & Raine they were very rude and threatening.
- anonymousHey I got 2 bills from these guys that were kind of old. I thought they were paid but after some research discovered only one was paid, the other one I actually owed. I paid the one I owed and sent proof of payment on the other and they canceled it immediately. The best thing you can do if you receive a bill and think it was already paid is to send them proof and they will cancel it.
- PeterI also received 4 letters from Rubin & Raine. One of these bills was 8 years old and I had insurance. I told the representative that I needed to call my insurance company to verify that the bills were not paid. I reviewed my records and I was seen at the hospital on 3 of the dates indicated in the bills. The other instance was a lab test my physician sent to this hospital for testing. My insurance company explained my coverage and I found out that I was responsible for the bills. I have sent my payment to the company as they are collecting valid debts on outstanding medical bills.
- StacyI know alot of people who have gotten letters. After some research anything 6 years older or more is past the statute of limitationsand they should not even be trying to collect on it.
- anonymousIt is Rubin & Raine calling. They use bully tactics to try and intimidate people into paying debts that may be "valid," or may not be, and they try to put the burden of proof as to their validity on the person who answers the phone. They have purchased unpaid bills, or "bad debt," by the bushel. They pay 1/2 cent on the dollar for millions of dollars of unpaid bills, then they try to use the bully method to get anyone to pay. They hire "phone solicitors" for bottom dollar, use autodialers to dail the calls, and the harrassment begins. They originate the calls from out of the area (Colorado) to call New Jersey so that their solicitors will have less of a chance of having a personal connection to those they are bullying. The phone solicitors are "trained" to assume that the person on the other end of the call just trying to evade the debt. They read from "scripts" that tell them what to say, and to give "broken record" "non-responses" to questions from the callee. What they don't realize is that whatever monies are collected through this bullying goes to their bosses and company owners, and that they could just as easily be selling magazine subscriptions, or spending their time on work that can make a positive difference in people's lives instead of spending their efforts on giving 80-year olds a heart attack.

- DianeI took care of an old debt in March with another debt collector and now I'm getting bills from this Rubin & Raine..I have called numerous times and mailed a letter with proof that I paid this debt 5 weeks ago and they said they never received the letter. I am quite annoyed on the phone with them and one woman hung up on me and the other woman told me that I needed to give them time... The whole thing is a big joke and they are harrassing me for a debt I already paid....I should get a lawyer to go after them....
- BIG SMELLY WEINERMerl Wallace is the manager of the Colorado outfit. He helped put APRIA into Bankrupcy in 1990. What a guy! You can look up his home number in the Colorado Springs Area.
- SeanThese people keep harassing me, they just called few minutes ago. I went to a hospital, recieved a bill a year later, then Rubin & Raine magically got involved. I had the veteran affairs pay my medical bill in full after I received the bill, then Rubin and Raine still harass me for it. I am so mad, I am getting to a point where I think there should be a class action lawsuit against this company. Multiple people who have been duped to pay again or falsely accused need to put up a website to gather people that have been accused together in a pool and sue this company. Whoever wants to create a website to gather people, please post the web address in this call reporting discussion board in regards to that number. Those who are interested in class action lawsuit can come back to this page and go on the site and gather up with other members. You can sue them for millions when it comes to class action and everyone's proof of evidence of harassment, and fake billing etc.

- Stop Calling Me| 2 repliesI would like to thank Big Smelly Weiner for his above comment. I proves what type of business Rubin and Raine is running. I have received several calls from Rubin and Raine for a debt that was over 7 years old. I was given the name of Paul Avalos-Office Manager as well as Eric Stanley--Supervisor out of the Colorado office to reslove this matter. Everytime I call either of them the representative refuses to transfer my call to them or to a voicemail So at this point I will not pay any attention to this "old" debt. If the managers refuse to spaek with me why should I speak to anyone else regarding this matter.
- UPSETcalled them back verified my name. They said they were a collection agency. I told them I had NO DEBT, no outstanding accounts. They told me that they could not provide me with ANY information and the female representative them asked me for my SS# and my date of birth. I told her never to call me again and hung up..... this is a fradulent operation!!!!!!!!!!
