It is Cox Communications reminding to pay your bill!

That's correct. I've never had them call except when I forgot to make my payment, so I wouldn't describe it as "spamming".

By the time they start leaving messages, they're pretty close to shutting off your service, so it's definitely not something you can safely just ignore.

If I'm late, and they want me to pay, they can mail me a bill, which they haven't, not call a cell phone number they are not even supposed to have.

I don't answer numbers on my cell if I don't recognize them, and if they can't leave a message then I won't call them back.

Right on!  Cable companies are the only ones in the world who expect you to pay for something BEFORE you receive it.

I get almost daily calls from this number. I've never had an account with Cox Communications and have been getting these calls for about a year and a half. I have spoken to their customer service and told them I do not and never have held an account and to stop calling me. But they still do.

This is NOT Cox Communications.  I get calls at least once a day and have for weeks now.  The first time I called the number they left and got a series of advertisements.  Then I called Cox on the number listed on their website.  The rep said it had nothing to do with Cox.  Today I called they number again when they called and got a singles chat line.  It is obviously a company that sells time for advertising to various other companies and uses the name of Cox as a cover in order to get people to call.

The very same thing has been going on with me for 2 years or more.  I don't have an account with  cox and never have.  2 years ago I called and told them and they said they would take care of the error.  Now it's emails, phone calls 2 or 3 times a day.  I asked how much they think I owe they said 6.95!  Can you imagine?  I don't know what to do about this as it just keeps up every day.

I got a call saying "we have scheduled a representative to visit your house due to changes in your account". I've recently discontinued my Cox service. I have no equipment of theirs.

This is NOT Cox. Cox (contacted through main number) denies that this is their phone number. It is a very good imitation - the automated message uses "the Cox voice", and the fake reps seem to follow a similar script to the real Cox reps. "Who do I have the pleasure of speaking with".

Their payoff is when they ask for your social security number to verify your account. Cox never asks you for your social security number. They will first ask for a PIN, and if you do not have or know your PIN they will ask for the last 4 digits of your SSN.

NEVER give ANY information in response to ANY incoming call - from a utility, from your bank, etc. Just call back in to the main switchboard or other published number. In the case of calls from this number, Cox will deny that it is them or that this is their number.

I don't understand how it is that this number has been reported for years, and Cox has not been able to take legal action to have it taken down!
