Number 800-935-0648 is part of a fake tech support virus

i just got virus warning popup  from 800-935-0648  and appears to be scam/phishing scam.  in past have got scam calls claiming they are micosoft tech people.  I just hang up because  scam going around re people claiming to be tech support

I tried to get on the internet and got a blue page saying my computer was infected and to call that number for tech help. I couldn't x out the page or get out of it at all.  I called and asked who is the company and they said the "world wide web" and offered my tech advise. Before I knew it he was actually on my computer. I hung up and unplugged my computer, but it is running very very slow now....

Got a pop up this morning. Called the number on my screen. They wanted access to my computer.  I said I wanted to research this first.  Now my computer is totally locked up.

Same thing happened to me. Did you get it fixed?

I got the same message. Now computer will not turn on. How did you fix it?

My cousin got the same message it is a browser hijack... I was able to bypass it on her computer

Computer locked up with a message of suspicious activity. Suppose to be from Microsoft. Had to cut the computer off. Called the number and a guy with a foreign accent wanted to help me. I told him I would have to call back.

I fell for calling it.  Guy was trying to sell anti-virus/malware.  Bailed AFTER I let him access my computer via Citrix.  Installed Chrome, no issues so far.
