the f*ckers sit there and not say sh*t and then hang up. what's the point in calling if they're gonna go all stalker-mode on people? this number needs to be burned.

This phone number has called my cell phone every day for the past two weeks and leaves a pre recorded message

I got a call from this number and they had the nerve to leave a message.  I was just going to delete it but my husband said to check it.  It was a tele-marketing call about my debts.

the company call you is Genesis Lending they are company that lends money for people to go to school trust me i know. some times they get a little annoying but i have to deal with them my student loan is at 18% thats the same as a credit card stay away from them if you have to go back to school they are crooks

This is the student loan company, Genesis Lending.

Genesis Lending a student loan company that have no idea or correct information to whom they loan money to they are very disorganized and have call me on varies people that I do not know. professional they are not and seem to be out to destroy or collect people ss#.

For the record, they use a predictive dialing system.

If you hear a pause before a telemarketer speaks, they are using a predictive dialing system. That gap is the computer recognizing you've picked up (and are not an answering machine) and connects you to a live person. Similarly, if no personnel is there to receive you, don't fret. No one is there on the other end, so don't feel creeped out.

Want to know more? When no one is on the other line, it is a miscalculation of the 'dialer' (a person who regulates the balance between calls and people available to take them). The system dials, say, 10 numbers, and the dialer expects only 3 to pick up per a previously recorded result. 3 personnel are available for those who do pick up. Lets say 4 pick up. One call gets "dropped" as only 3 personnel are available. This may seem like a stupid idea, but as someone who worked in a customer service call center with and without this system, personally having to hear answer machine after answering machine only to have 1 person pick up (and be angry) after 20 calls, is highly inefficient on a business perspective. Many companies use this, and it highly improves productivity. Sometimes there is no one manning it at all and it's entirely computerized.

Long story short, if you hear a pause and then someones on the other end, they want your money in some way or another (and be nice, it's just a job and not a fun or well paid one at that). If you hear no one, no one's there.
