    Bill collectors. CBCS. They don't leave a message and when you call back you'll get someone on the line trying to collect a bill. They will blow up your phone.

    We are a business and have and answer our phone 24/7. We get some call from the number below, asking about a name I wasn't familiar with. Called twice, and didn't identify the company

    Receiving repeated automated calls for person I never heard of.  Latest was about 6:25 pm.  If I am X push 1, if not 2; when push 2, then push 1 if X can come to phone, or 2 if he is unavailable.  No way to tell them he has never lived here or had this phone number.  

    Previous call (after many) tried 1.  Person refused to identify the company or provide any information which could result in follow up.

    I got a call telling me to wait for an agent. (I thought I had won a contest or something). After 5 minutes this person with a deep voice said "hello, Mr. D-----" (they obviosly read my caller ID). I said, Yes, Sir, what company do you represent. The person responded by saying "You [***] H---" This is a collection agency I am not a Sir. The person promptly hung up on me. I have a good credit score with nothing in the closet that I can think of.

    how can this be stopped
    these people are idiots, they don't believe when I tell them the person they are calling isnt at this number..they are rude, refuse to identify themselves.  My guess is they are not a reputable company and they hire misfits who cannot understand english.  After all of these calls, If I had any info on the party they are calling I wouldnt give it to them.

    I got this phone number when I moved here about a year ago... and have got about one one or two automated calls a week looking for some one named Darline Waters (Walters ?). Three times the calls have been from live people, who refused to identify themself, to whome I have explained that I didn't have a clue what they were talking about, and would they please stop. They have not. I'm going to call the Feds about this, but don't expect that they will do much, if any thing, to stop it. Perhaps I'll just have my phone number changed.

    they call my cell phone non stop and I donot know who they are they will not tell me who they are only that they need to talk to someone who is not me and when I say I am not they say sure you are not

    Hi, These CBCS folks called my home number today 4/3/2008.  My caller ID showed they were calling from 800-947-2987.  I called them back and got a live person.  She was very tense and wanted my account #.  I said I have no account # and told her that they had called me.  She then wanted my phone # that they had called.  I refused to give it to them.  She said she would not be able to remove my number unless I gave it to them.  I told her that I never asked her to remove my number, why would I want her to remove my number.  Now she was getting hot!  She said that they would continue to call my number unless I gave them my number to have it removed.  I told her I would continue to call her back and play the same game.  She then had a few choice words and ended our conversation.

    So go ahead and please call these folks back at 800-947-2987 and play their game.  It very fun and will really give you a warm fuzzy feeling.

    Frequent calls to call this number No Identification of who is calling.  I hjave called to tell them to gewt my phone number out of their system and they call anyways.  This has been going on for more than FIVE YEARS!!

    Driving me Crazy!
    Who the heck are these people.  Two years ago I repeatedly told them that the person they were looking for was not at that phone number.  I finally gave up trying to tell them to stop calling.  I still receive two phones calls back to back twice a week from them.  Messages left on my machine always say the same thing.  I suppose this automation will always be connected to my phone number for eternity!!  Someone needs to find out the company name of this company so many of us can ban together and file a harrassment suit!

    I have been getting these calls to me cellphone as well.  They just curse or say things that make no sense.  I am reporting this # to the BBB, FTC (federal trade commission), and the attorney general's office.  

    These people do this because they get paid by the hour to make a certain amount of calls a day.  If you we don't report businesses like this we allow them to be the a**holes they are.  I am a professional bill collector (somebody has to do it)and I know the penalties the company and individual collectors face for this type of action.  They also know it is hard to track which is why they don't care.  If enough of us hold them responsible by reporting this action, the company will either address it or cease to exist.

    Caller left two messages. The message (in an automated voice) said my name, and then it said (in a person's voice) "do not listen to this message". I called back to see who is calling me. They asked for my account #. I asked who they were. CBCS they said. Again, what's my account #. When I started questioning them, they hung up on me.

    They constantly call me.  on my answering machine it's alway the very end of a message.  So obviously their machine doesn't recognize that they have reached a machine and starts talking before the end of my outgoing message.  They call everday about the same time, while I am at work.  So, I have never had the "pleasure" of speaking with them.

    One post above gave the company name.  I found the address below on their website.  I looked online regarding Fair Credit Act,etc and it stated that if you are receiving calls/letters and it is not for you, you should write a letter and send two copies-one regular mail and one certified mail with returned receipt requested.  That way you receive confirmation back of them receiving the letter.  You have to give your number or address (whichever they are contacting you through) and state they are to stop contacting you.  If they don't and you a copy of the letter (and receipt confirmation) you now have legal grounds to sue them for harassment.

    I get calls, but no messages.  They call my cell phone and it drives me nuts.  I get different ones calling and no one will leave a message.  They call while I'm at work, so all I get is a missed call.

    Fed Up !!!!
    I finally called this number back and was aked for my account number. I politely asked the agent what company she was representing. She replied by asking for my number. I gave her a fake number and she said that that is not what showed up on caller id. I asked if she could see the number why ask. I asked her what number showed up and she refused to answer. I advised that I only have one monthly bill. My mortgage. It is a couple of months ahead and i really doubt that I am the party her company is trying to reach. THIS WILL BE THE LAST TIME I SPEAK TO THEM IN A PROFESSIONAL MANNER...

    I recently upgraded my cell service to unlimited minutes.  When I get calls from numbers I don't recognize, I wait for the voicemail.  If it's not my problem, I save the number as "DO NOT ANSWER" that way I know when it's a jerk calling.  Ha! I should put my ex's number that way too huh?
