- TontoHow do i stop these guys texting me?!
- stevethe reason you are receiving these calls is because you have texted or called some seedy operator such as Adult Logos/World Cup 08448845050 or Bang Babes chat service 08702690415.

tell me please - Jurajhello, I'm getting phone calls from some private number which when I answer I hear a message which goes something like : "Hello this is 08000... to accept a reverse call press a button and say yes" which I'm sure this is some kind of scam and no one is acctually trying to reach me, and I mean wouldn't mind this, I would just hang up as soon as I realised it's them again, but today I received another call from them with different message telling me that because I reject the call all the time and I seem to be using it as some kind of messaging service they will start to charge me for it. It doesn't make any sense to me, I have never accepted the call from this service. again I want to say that the number I'm getting calls from is concealed, so I don't even know who to contact. (btw I'm with Vodaphone)Thank you for any suggestion.
- Caller: unknown (but I think it is 0800)

Free Message fancy a chance to audition for Spiderman 4? Text the word FAME to 80160 followed by your name.
I've called o2 about it now as Im on a contract to see if I have been charged and they said I havent so thats good... - Renata WojciechowskaI have received some messages from this number and I don't know how this happened. I'm not sure but I have not signed for anything like that and I don't want to pay for it. Who I should complained to? This is illegal as I have never agreed to be charged for receiving sms's. I can't control incoming messages so I can't pay for it.
- PengeThis seems to be connected to 85222 as well, because 80160 is something to do with mblox which comes up as 85222. Please see that thread also.

- GtmodMake sure you report these to Phonepayplus, 2 companies have just been fined £20k and been barred from operating for 12 months as a result of complaints from the public. Admittedly they were for missed call scms, but they do rule against text scammers too.
Complaints can be made on line through the phonepayplus web site, they also have a number checker there that you can use to find out who operates the "service" spamming you.
The public need to be reporting every single instance of these scams so that the complacent OFCOM and Phonepayplus get a realistic view of just how widespread this sort of fraud is.
Several Uk networks offer premium rate barring now, I know Voda do, but getting it put on can be a problem in itself! ALL networks should offer this - we should have control to prevent our accounts being plundered by these fraudsters - who usually turn out to be based overseas and beyond reach. - RuthI got a text from this number last night, not signed up for anything yet i've just checked my online bill and it's charged me £1.50 to receive it!! I don't want to pay to stop them as i didn't ask for them in the first place!! did other people get more texts or was it just the one?
- Caller: Not sure, looks like 'ltext' or somethin
- KathyJust found out that I have been charged for a text received from 80160 on 31/01/2009.I did not request this text and did not reply to it.I actually deleted it as a nuisance.Fuming is my mood now I discover that some slimy toad has my money for no reason.I thought that this practise had been outlawed.
I have followed the advice above and sent STOP ALL to the number.Fingers crossed- Caller: some message text.deleted straight away
