- RichardAutomated caller.
- Richard| 1 replyAutomated caller.
- Paul replies to RichardI haven't validated it as of yet, but it looks like there's a good possibility of it being Discover Financial.
- cuz| 3 repliesyes it is Discover Financial
i called them- Call type: Debt collector
- Mogy replies to cuz| 1 replyThat wasn't Discover. I just called discover and they told me it's not one of their numbers.
- ZebulunIt is Discover - it is their fraud department. It was NOT a debt collection call - it was them confirming that I did indeed make charges. Glad I answered!
- Caller: Discover
- NameThe people who are coming on here and leaving messages saying that these calls are legitimately from Discover are lying. They are part of the scam. They know people come on here and report these calls, and they are hoping you will read their messages and not suspect the true nature of their calls - which is to talk you into giving up personal info over the phone to a bunch of fat losers sitting at home trying to drum up money to buy drugs.
- Caller: hoax
- PHI keep getting this call on my cell.
1 I dont have a Discover card - never did
2. I don't use my cell for any of my personal accounts.
3. the number is listed on the do not call list.
So someone isnt being honest here.- Caller: UTAH
- TaylorI got a call from them, let it go to voicemail cuz I don't answer unknown numbers for exactly this reason. I'm not calling them back. However I did call Discover's main customer service line, and they did not know why someone would've called me (nothing showed as concerning on her screen).
Only call the main numbers that are advertised! - MDawg| 2 repliesIt is legitimately the Discover Fraud Department checking on activity on your card.
- Caller: Discover
- RogerI never answer unrecognized calls. Based on reports here, I called the Discover number on my card. Discover's agent confirmed two things. The number belongs to Discover's Utah call center (anyone can confirm this by calling the number on their card), and there was a note in my account that Discover attempted to contact me this morning.
The.agent could not tell me why.
I instructed the agent to advise his employer to leave a message in the future -- otherwise I will interpret the matter as something to be ignored.
I do not respond to unrecognized callers. Ever.- Caller: Discovercard
- TimothyKeep getting calls from this number, I do not have a Discover Card, so if this is Discover calling they have no reason to be calling, as most I suspect a scam using a random number process.
- Caller: Discover
- Call type: Debt collector
- StephVery believable message that claims to be from Discover Fraud, but called back to the main number and spoke to Fraud and they have no record of it. Seems to be a scam.
- innocentDiscover said this is not one of their phone numbers, and that it is phishing. I received an email from them on the same day. I didn't give them any information over the phone, or online. Don't answer this number. Don't call them back.
- GavinReceived a voicemail from this number saying they were from discover student loans and to call a number I accidentally deleted the message instead of replaying it so I didn't get that number. I called back the number that called me in the first place was an automated menu for discover. They redirected me to a different number for student loans and then said they had no idea why I would've received that message.
- dismilinThey left a message on my voicemail looking for my ex-husband who I divorced 4 years ago. He has no business with Discover Card. They called again today and I answered. Again, the woman asked for my ex-husband. I said he wasn't available, and she asked if I was his wife, Mrs. Blah Blah. I said that I'm his EX-wife, Mrs. Blah Blah. She then asked if I had a number where he could be reached, and I told her no. If they were from Discover Card, why would they not have his phone number? (it's been the same for over 10 years) And why would they be calling me looking for him? This has phishing scam written all over it. I'm reporting them to the Attorney General.
- Caller: "Discover Card"
- JohnGot a call from this number. Had no connections to a number from Utah. Didn't answer. No voicemail left. No call back.
- SueI got 4 back-to-back calls from this number at 8:45 am Eastern - I doubt a Utah-based Discover Card call center would be operating at 6:45 in the morning Mountain time. After I ignored the fourth call in a row, they left a 4-second message with only the sound of someone shuffling and possibly hanging up a phone on the other side. This is definitely NOT legitimate. I've never had a Discover account, so there is no reason they would have my contact information.
- Caller: Scam
- Reggie McCodyi received two calls from what comes up as Discover Financial on caller I.D. Two different numbers: 801-902-2944 & 801-902-7000. I called the second one back and they did answer "Discover Financial". Woman tried for several minutes to figure out why they called me and didn't leave a message. I have no account with them and I have had same phone number for decades.
- Caller: Discover
