calling asking for social security number

a woman named brittany called for me

They have been calling me, whoever it is, and told me they are from Williams and Fudge and asked me to verify my date of birth.

I have no idea who this is and why would I tell someone calling me my date of birth?  If I were calling someone and I had a company name and acct number in front of me, etc, then I can see verification so that they know I am who I am, but not someone calling me.

I asked what the call was in reference to and she would not tell me.  Then she actually did tell me my date of birth but I did not verify it.

She never would tell me why she was calling so I hung up on her.

same here. She was looking for James Buddy.

I called this number back and asked who's calling and she said Brittany (haven't they been using this name for a while). Wouldn't answer any other questions so I hung up.

Same thing they call won't give me any information about who they are or what they want.  They want me to verify my SSN and date of birth.  Which I refused to do.  Who would give that information out to someone you have no idea who they are.  She did say she had a serious legal issue on her desk?  That she has with someone named James.

Williams and Fudge collect for past due student loans. They are collecting on mine. Brittany is unbelievably nice so please consider letting her help you. She was able to spread my debt over 10 years so i could get it paid off. If you don't and just ignore it it with go to another place at Pennsylvania Higher Education...they are CRUEL and for 9 months we had to pay over 1000 per month before we could get the student loan out of their collection department. Thankfully we made it. Don't get caught in the latter situation. I'd call Brittany back if I were you. She's actually very understanding.
