there calling looking for my mom.  She passed on 2 years ago they said they have a court action against her no answer when you call back

they call and said they have a legal matter with me, who is this phone number.

Just received a call from this number from a Christie Little, claiming that someone in Columbia, SC has filed for a restraining order against me.....I have been to Columbia, SC...but would not be involved with anyone who would be filing an order against me. I googled "Pending restaining Order Scams" and got a ton of hits.

I'm sure this is a scam, and they probably calling to get personal information from me, that they will try and use at some point to get access to some type of financial account.

Do Not call the number, or give them any information. I am passing it on to my local Police Station, so they can do some research. In my County and I thought most...restraining orders are dealt with by the Sheriff's Department...not some company (name unknown).

just got the same call as the person above. saying there is a reastraining order pending, never been to south carolina....watch out everyone. can't hardly understand the dude.  if it don't come from the local sheriff it don't matter

I just got a call from my mother-in-law saying someone named John Archer called and said I had a restraining order on me and to call this number so bless her heart she was so upset and called me and I called the number and I was holding and my husband said let me look up the number and when we saw all these emails from folks I just hung up. I am going to file this with the Texas Attorney General also.. So people file complaints on them because there is so many elderly people that they might call that they could get info from and scare them to death so I am reporting them for sure. I am in Texas and the call is from Carolina

i just got a call from this number and they filling a restraining order, when my cousin called, which is a lawyer he tried to introduced himself and saying that his my attorney, they hang up the phone fast! the person  who called pretending to be as a "special investigator named Mr. Pierce" so BEWARE PEOPLE!
I cant believe that people has the balls to do this!

A person by the name of Christy Little just called my future in-laws saying that I had a pending restraining order against me.... I tried calling the number back and it went to a busy signal. I think this is a scam!

A person named Christy Little called and said she was a special investigator and I was too call because a restraining order was going to be processed on me and to give the case number to my attorney. She also called my husbands phone.

I love this website! I just received a call from this "investigator"... Came in on my cell as a restricted number, so I never answer unknown number anyway! Voice mail left spelled out all the above-mentioned BS and left a case number, contact name and phone number. They used a married name I haven't used in almost 12 years. Had me shaken up, until I saw this. I will not be calling them back!

Guy left a messege with a blocked number. He could not read his pre-written script. This guy needs reading lessons. One uneducated MF. Big scam.

I had a call from this number two days ago saying that there was a restraining order against me.  At the moment when my sister passed on the message to, I was so mad. In my mind, I had three reasons to look back for the tick of the second -was any of those three "sexual assault", "stalking", or "domestic violence"? Because isn't it the other way around?  A guy by the name of John Archer passed on to my sister to tell me to call back with a "genuine" case number all ready for me.  I called back because it was the restraining order that got me head-locked.  A lady answered the line and saying that Discover Card IS suing me for 3500 dollars from somewhere out of the dust -probably, 5 or 6 years ago. The biggest generalization that i had in mind for the sudden subpoena was that I had probably did something.....-BS!  I asked her to provide more information about the Discover Card fraud that I "made" 5 years ago.  She strongly replied back that a subpoena will be sent to my address with no further information.  And if I don't go to court, they will freeze my asset and make me pay lots more than 3500 including court fees.

My son, in east Texas, called me about a call he just received about a loan at Ace Cash Express that the caller, Grace Snow, said he got back in August 2001.  She made threats and stated that a "restraining order" has been issued against him.  A "restraining order"?  Restrained from doing what?  Making another loan?  Going bowling on Friday night?  Who knows!  These scammers are surely stupid.  A legitimate "bill collector" may threaten a "judgement" against someone, but not a "restraining order"  Besides that, with a judgement and 50 cents, that bill collector and get a cup of coffee.  As Forest Gump says:  "stupid is as stupid does".

In addition, there are no "garnishee" laws in Texas (except the U.S. Government).  Bill collectors cannot seize anything other than what someone may have given as "collateral" and any collateral must be itemized in the contract or a "security agreement" listing the items securing the loan.  And your bank account cannot be touched (accept, again, by the U.S. Government).  So, laugh it off and sleep well.  THEY JUST DON'T KNOW HOW REALLY STUPID THEY ARE.

I am the aforementioned son from the previous two posts.  Some jackholes have been calling me using a blocked number on the caller ID.  I don't normally answer blocked numbers, so they got ignored.  Today, they actually left a message, so I called them back.  They alleged (the first time) they were representing the financial interests of a payday advance place and were trying to collect on the bogus debt.  They somehow had my parents home address, my current cell phone, and at least the first 5 digits of my SSN.  I foolishly gave them my current mailing address so they can "serve" me papers - after all, if I'm due in court, I want to know about it!  

The second time they called, they were representing the interests of an individual in Washington D.C., saying I was being summoned to court for a restraining order.  Believe it or not, I was actually talking with a police officer at the time of the second call.  Let's just say scammers don't like being accosted by law enforcement and threatened with the FBI!

Bottom line - Lewis is right!  If you're in debt, you can't go to jail for it or lose money (unless it's the Feds, they can do anything!).  The worst that'll happen is they'll rule against you and ruin your credit.  If you're scammed like I was, don't lose your head and give in; get everything in writing, then file a police report.  You can also post a "fraud alert" to each credit bureau for free for 90 days.  Informing one credit bureau means all of them post a fraud alert - it's the law.  If 90 days isn't good enough, submit a police report to the credit agencies and they'll post a fraud alert for you that's good for 7 years.  Also make sure to get a copy of your free credit report (offered yearly for free, or for free if you get a fraud alert put on your records).  Also, be sure to shred anything with an account number, address, or phone number on it.  Lastly, shop safe - don't put your accounting info. anywhere you don't trust or recognize.

same thing hapen to me. the call came from an unknow # left a message saying the same things. Beware people this is a SCAM. They will try to scare you and used that for you to give up your account info...i live in florida and i have no one or know no one in south carolina

I received a call from this company today on my cell phone and my home phone, saying they have a restraining order against me and I have 24 to 48 hours to get in touch with them or I will be served papers to go to court. The womans name was brittany green. I tried calling back to see what this was really about and it kept saying all agents are currently busy. I believe it's some sort of scam, but how can we stop these people from calling?? I have knowone who would file a restraining order against me any way.
