It is Capital One

They "claim" to be Capital One.  

The first thing they ask for, is your credit card number.  

DON'T give it to them!!    

If they were really Capital One, then they would give you the number.

This company keeps on calling and calling my number-the majority of the time there is no one on the other end and this is very annoying; I am on the do not call list and I have told them over and over but they continue to call my number

they have called my phone 4 times today ... no messages left ... they are driving me crazy !

I am getting spammed with calls from 804-217-7156. I do not answer them, since Googling the number brings up reports that this is a phishing scam call pretending to be from Capital One. This is ridiculous. They call many times a day. If they leave a message (rarely), it is a hangup.

the number 804-217-7156 calls my phone at least 15 times a day it states it is linda calling from capital one this person is driving me crazy and want it to stop

They call my husband in Spanish AT LEAST 5-7 times a day... Neither of us have EVER had a credit card! He keeps telling them that he doesn't speak Spanish but they just keep talking and we have no idea what they're saying... It's so ANNOYING!!

Capital One can't give out your account number, it's against the Patriot Act.  The first thing they use for verification is your name and zip code.

pay what bill ??? thet're calling my new cell phone number. i have not given the number out and  i never owned anything from capital one.   it has to be for the previous owner of my cell phone number (if its legit) but its a robo call ... i have a real lengthy outgoing message and 3/4 of the message the TRIED to leave was during the out message ... message left  only got about 4 digits of number they left.

hmm ... either my message beginning with sit tones worked or the fact that i got called on cell phone and rejected call kept them from leaving a message this time. ill have to  leave my phone off to see what they do.  usually its capital one lind calling with an important business matter ... that wording means bill collection type scam. if they dont say my name in any way.

I do not know why this number would be calling me I have never had a Capital One Account EVER, They have now started to call me 7 days a week from 07:30 CT to as late as 23:00 CT,  almost every 53 minutes, when I have answered it is an automated call saying "please hold" then hangs up, when I call back I get a message "Mail box is full". The latest has been a number of telephone from other areas all link back to Capital One, I have files a complaint with the FCC, and been told "there is nothing they can do, file a complaint with the local AG.s Office. I have now file 5 complaint with 5 different states AG and heard nothing back, but the calls keep coming, please help what else can I do? these people keep calling me and don't have the balls enough to leave me a message if it is who I think it is i am fixing to get rid of them they are always calling and disturbing me into insanity mode i wish they would stop

I do have a Capital One card, but this is not Capital One calling. It's just a spammer. This came through discussion with the real Capital One by calling their number directly, myself.

It's Capitol One. This is their hired thug number along with 800-955-6600.  They aren't interested in talking with you.  They don't want to work out deals.  They don't care if you don't owe Capitol One money. They are hired to harass. Period.  You need to talk to Capitol One directly to get off the call list. I just put my phone on vibrate, put the phone in my pocket and take in the perks.  They call every hour and I enjoy every minute of it.
