I don't even have a card with Capitol One and they keep calling my number asking for someone named "Virginia" and I don't even know anyone named Virginia. The first two calls involved someone in person who kept asking me about "Virginia" so they can collect debt. Somehow the words "I don't know any Virginia" hasn't gotten through to them. Now my wife and I on both cell phones receive phone calls from them almost every day, automated (no longer a person) and in my mind it's considered harassment. My solution is to contact the better business bureau and have a police report filled out. I suspect after that is done, the problem will be resolved.

I get these calls daily. The calls are for someone else, but whether I select "1" (I am that person) or "2" (I am not that person, I get directed to the same lonnnng recording which goes on so long, in fact, that I get frustrated and simply hang up. I called back two weeks ago asking them to take my cell number off the list- that hasn't worked.

they keep calling asking for a robert. im a female. pretty sure i have a high voice. and i have had my number for over a year. they wont stop calling. and just today, while in kmart, i got in a screaming match with the guy. he called. i said "sorry you have the wrong number". he was silent. so i hung up. he called right back. so i told him again, "robert doesnt have this number. please stop calling". so he called back. i went off. yelled at him a little. and he says "i think you should watch your tone". BAHAHAH! REALLY?! so when i hung up on him after telling him to "stop calling my f$@!$^&* phone", he had the nerve to call again. is there a way to put a stop to this really?!

Been having the same problem. They keep calling, sometimes 2-3 times a day trying to reach someone other than me about their account. I don't have a Capitol One Credit Card ( nor will I ever), I don't currently have a husband/fiancee/boyfriend but they seem to think so.

I highly recommend everyone who is dealing with these harrassing phone calls should file a complaint at:  https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/FTC_Wizard.aspx?Lang=en

Also file a complaint with the Department of the Treasury/Office of the Comptroller of the Currency at: https://appsec.helpwithmybank.gov/olcc_form

Capitol One is considered a National bank and shouldn't be harrassing individuals about accounts that do not belong to them. Nor should they be overusing the robocall option.

I would also send a certified letter of complaint to their customer service to cease and desist that they are not allowed to contact you about any debt that you don't own. If the debt is yours, you can request copies of everything to prove it is your debt. Anything older than 7-years dispute the hell out of. It is up to them to prove you haven't paid at that point. These companies are ruthless about trying to make people pay on zombie debts due to their piss poor record keeping.

I can report that its a Capital One number from Virginia.  They call me twice a month, at the same time, and they never leave a message.  When I call back, I just get the robot answering machine.  And its really annoying since my bankruptcy discharge papers were approved sometime ago.  I don't understand why they are still calling, they we're informed and given notice, but its obvious they just don't care, even if they know they are breaking the law.

Ladies & Gentleman if you were not so rude when these people are calling you would not run into the problems you run into.  They called me for my brother yesterday.  I wasnt upset however i was concerned.  Turned out They work for Capital one but are kind of a mediator between my brother and Capital one.  They were about to sue my brother and extending a courtesy to try to help before Capital One sued my brother.  If you are getting calls falsely dont be rude everyone makes mistakes.  I ended up helping my brother out and the manager we spoke with told us as long as we make any amount payment monthly they would not sue him.  They also had other plans for low interest and a settlment but we couldnt afford that.  The point is They are calling to help people who have fallin on hard times. My brother didnt have a cell ph due to his financial issues. And they call anyone and everyone related or living with that person to attempt to relay a message to that person.  if they didnt call me my brother would have just been sued and therefore in a worse financial situation than he already is in.  I know its annoying to get calls from any company but these are not solicitation they are really trying to help and can help

i have been getting calls from this number. sometimes i get a answering machine and funny they ask you to leave your account informtion and also Social Security number and a contact number so that they can get back to you. isn;t that something fishy. you are asked to leave all your valuable information for someone to extract and you are not even sure they are who they pretend to be. so i did not leave any inforation for a couple of days and one day finally i got a person on the line and told him that this number does not belong to the person they are calling for and the person agreed to remove my number off the list and told me it would take two business days to take effect. even if this guy is legit and he was calling for me, i would not leave my information on this voicemail. thats nonsense for someone to have to leave valuable information on voicemail.
