This guy called and identified himself as Adam and said that when I log on to the nenternet I am getting errors from windows seven and I told him that I do not use a computer at home, only my work computer he insisted that someone in my home has a new laptop and they are trying to get onto the internet but getting errors. I told him that it must be my neighbors so I would have them call him back. He gave me this number and his name. I called the number back and he answeres " hello" not a business name or anything. Do not trust this number!!!

Got a call from Bob at this company. Was very calm and professional. Said his certification license number was 5617 or something. Sounded as though they were trying to get my confidence. Said he was with the "Windows Support Tech Team" and they've noticed I've hit "report to Microsoft" on several errors. Walked me through looking at my Event Viewer and showed great concern that I've gotten warnings. He told me if I didn't go to Team Viewer, install their remote control software, allow them take control of my PC to diagnose it, I would get a black screen and my PC would be dead. I'd lose all of my data.

What they were doing was free but they may need to charge me for replacing any missing Windows components causing the errors. Looking through your reports, that charge would've been $149.

I didn't want anyone looking at my PC because I have all of my financial data on it. My life. My identity. He gave me this number to call them back at. I'm glad I searched on it.

    It hits me now:

    - Microsoft wouldn't be calling me, I've always seen an 800 number on the screen.
    - Microsoft wouldn't offer to help for free. I'd have to pay a fee for support up front.
    - Microsoft really doesn't care if my old PC crashes. Then I'd have to go and buy a new PC and all upgrade all the versions of my software making them a ton of money.
    - Microsoft typically pushes the support responsibilities to the PC manufacturer.

This made no sense. Thanks to all of you on here. They made it so convincing. I was very concerned and almost let them do it.

They called my home number claiming that my girlfriends PC was putting out spam and viruses and they needed access to it. They almost had her convinced but she emailed me at work. We have six PC's running through the same router, so I explained to her that there is no way to trace our IP address much less which PC and associate it with our phone number.
I do have one question for these scum sucking filthy untouchables, "Jab tu paida hua tho aagey se ya peechey se nikla tha chutiya?"

Twice "Russell Smith" with a strong accent (India?) called claiming to be calling in response to the many messages being sent from my computer (error messages).  He wants to know, "Are you sitting in front of your computer now?".  He says my computer is at risk, and he's calling to resolve the problem.  Finally, I asked for a number where I could reach him 'when I was free'.  There is no way I would allow him to get into my computer to "fix it" when he is calling me!  Duh!  I just want him to stop calling - How can I do that?

Total scam! Jack (with a heavy accent from India) said he was from Texas (lol) I asked him for his phone number while on the call to trace it-he said the same things as everyone else has said and I told him I knew this was a scam and I was tracing his number through my scam tracker program, he said he would prove to me that this was legitimate and I asked him for his physical address and he got very quiet and hung up.

Just got a call from these guys. It sent my BS meter to the limit pretty much right away.

The guy said he worked for Microsoft and I asked him again directly if he was an employee of Microsoft and he saud yes. Can't imagine Microsoft woudl be too happy with these guys representing themselves as MS emplyees.

Seems like a total scam, I asked the guy for the IP number of the computer he claimed was sending them errors, and he didn't say a word. Hung the call up, but he's called back twice now.

I had a call tonight & the guy claimed my computer was sending out errors to the Windows center & he needed to verify some info. I told him that I thought it was a scam & asked why it came up "unknown" on the caller id. He tried to say it was just my phone. I told him to give me his number & I would call it back to see if it was Windows. He gave me this number. It is certainly not legit!!!!!!!

Last week I got this call from Microsoft in McKinney, TX. (At least that what he said).  I followed his instructions.  He wanted me to pay a lot of money for 3 different cost so I won't be getting a hacker.  He showed me that I am getting error's from "eventview" each time I get on computer.

I did not give him permission to do nothing and I bought nothing.  The only problem now is we are having trouble with our email hotmail accounts.

I don't know how to correct this problem.

When I had this "Microsoft" person call.  He said what everybody is saying.  My only problem is that when he showed me the error messages, I had someone at the door, then when I came back on the computer he did something.  Do I need to take my computer in to a specialist because he did something and we are having trouble with our email accounts.  HELP
