I posted a craigslist ad, responder asked "do you still have it?". Suspicious at the brevity of the response, I answered simply, "I do". This response followed an hour later:

Great, I would only pay by certified check. I would wait until check has cleared from your bank before I proceed with pick up. Please provide me with your name, mobile number and address for the check to be cut and mailed via FEDEX overnight. My mover would come for it after check clears. Please kindly delete your post from site to avoid any interruptions.

This is a well-known scam involving bad checks. Don't do any business with anyone using this number... or offering to send you a certified check. This same number has been reported in detail on other 'whoisit?' type sites. I am posting here too, to make sure no one misses the warning.

This same number sent me a text at 11:30 at night asking for my full name and address of my residence. said he would send me a ceritifed check & wait for it to clear before getting the items i'm selling. i also got 2 different emails saying about the same things.

Same as others...received text message that they wanted to buy "I want to buy,and i would pay by certified check.  I'd wait until it has cleared before I proceed with pick up." and asking me to..."Please provide your full name and residential address for payment"
