They left me a message.Her name was Maryann Woods, claim investigator providing a claim and affidavit# as a restraining order court action

Her name was Kimberly Reed.... same as above.

Same as above about a felony fraud case number....

This number called to me, trying to act like they were something important and using scare tactics, which did not work. I do not have any debts out there and I am certainly not in trouble with the law. When I called back, the woman on the phone asked for the first 3 digits of my S.S. I told her no way, that her company sounded fishy and that I was going to report them to the F.B.I. She got upset, stareted saying "whatevers" and hung up on me. More proof that there is something illegal going on with that number.

Peter McKinley was who left a message, or at least that's what he said his name was. I think they were trying to get all of my S.S. digits so that they can identity fraud me or something. Very strange. Don't give them any inormation!

I got a call from this number id as private caller looking for someone else. That person didn't live here and the call came from Carly Nichols.

I received a call from a Peter McKinley identifying himself as a "special investigator."  He did not identify the company he was calling from.  Then he said a complaint is being filed against me pursuant to affidavit number blah, blah, blah and that I must call this number 813-863-1962 within 24-48 hours and contact my lawyer, and that this action is an order to show cause and a restraining order has been filed against me.  First of all let me just say that this is totally a scam and if they are debt collection agency they are breaking so many FTC laws.

1)  They must identify themselves and their company name.
2)  They are required by law to full disclosure of their intentions.  This mumbo-jumbo above is a bunch of BS!
3)  They cannot require you to call them back at a cost to you - this number is not toll free.
4)  They are required to send you written validation of the debt they are claiming you owe, however, they do not even say that, that is what they are calling about.  They are just trying to get you to call them back so they can restart the statute of limitations so then they do have legal right to restart the SOL and can legally file suit against you.
5)  They cannot misrepresent themselves in any way that gives the impression that they are an attorney, legal department, sheriff, court or any official legal person.

So whatever you do - do not ever call these [***] back - you will get scammed out of your money!  If you do happen to talk to them, let them know that if they call again you have at least 5 serious violations on them of which you can sue them for and collect a minimum of $1000-$2500 per violation.  In addition to working on getting their illegal boiler room operation shut down.

just got a call from this no. and left a msg in the voicemail , telling me that there's a complain against me with file no.. so so,  then i guess its another way of scamming people ...so i ignored it,..how can we possibly stop this people getting our info or perhaps block calls from unknown nos?

The exact same person (Donnie Brooks) called my sister as well. They were so rude and almost harrassing!!!! I would never have put my sister down as a referance but The part that had me most baffled was that the debt was from 2004 and my sisters name has since changed and she just recently got that phone number and it is in her husbands name. When i called back they did ask for the same info but could not tell me where the debt was from. Only that it was from a store meanwhile i have no outstanding debts nor do I have any "restraining" orders.

Got the same message today. Glad there is a web-site that explains what is going on and how to stop this type of action.

Plus, if you were getting served some kind of court papers - they do that in person as a representative of the court, so why do they think people are dumb enough to return some bogus threatening phone call like that?  It has scam written all over it!!!!

got call from this number larry miller black guy saying restraining order against you and you have 24 hours to notify us and your lawyer  that a court action will take place and they give a slp 2724  # and that he is a special investigator to call him immediately     it is a scam  dont know what its about but havent been to florida either    lets get these people arrested

Restraining order crap over the phone. I am no legal expert by any means but I am fairly certain a message of that sort would NOT have been left by law enforecement. Seems to me the police would have served me with some type of papers instead of calling me from 3 states away. Frank Robinson was my caller. Scared the crap out of my mom when she listened to the messages. She thought I had gotten into some major trouble.  I called the number and sat on hold for a few minutes as I googled the number. Thanks everyone for posting your experiences so others would know they weren't alone!

The caller keeps calling saying there is a restraining order his name is tarrence Taylor so he says and he is an investigator.

Request to appear with a case number for a complaint and have my attorney call 813-863-1962 with in 24 to 48 hours. I have no complaints or judgements and have not been serviced any court papers.

Received a call from A Chris Logan, sounded American, not Indian like the other calls of this type that I"'ve been getting for the last two years or so.  He was calling from Central Legal Services and he had a claim number against me and that either I or my attorney have 24-48 hours to get back to him to him.  This call came in today Friday, 7/29/11, and the same message was on my cell phone a few minutes later.  Don't give them any information, whatever you do, in fact, don't even call them back.  This is a scam.

I got the same call today...They also left a message at my Ex Mother Inlaws phone #...I did call them back said it was about a debt with HSBC back in 2007...Said HSBC contacted me in 2008 with a payoff offer...Told dude I can't remember a phone convo from a yr. ago...let alone 3 yrs. ago...He got a bit agitated and said I would be receiving a something in the mail to go in front of a judge and can argue my case there...I said OK...He didn't sound very happy!
