i just noticed on my o2 phone bill that i have the above number and dont remember getting a txt from it does any body else have this number

You may have ordered something and paid for it by text - for example, the F-Secure mobile security software - they charge £7.50 for 3 months (which is pretty good for the software package) and you pay for it by them sending you 5 texts each charged at £1.50 a time.

According to my research, it appears they are a main transaction company for quite a lot of companies and charities.  If this is a recurring problem, you may need to get in touch with the originator of the bill.  A lot of people have tried to send a text to 81404 but it appears to be a number that only sends texts and is what I call Unmanned so you will never get a response from it.

Just had a message from this number telling me that I can claim my reward of 200 sms a month to use via smsunltd.co.uk. I don't think I'll be replying.

I've also just had the reward of 200 free texts from smsunltd.co.uk - how is it a reward if they are wanting 1.50gbp a week for them? LOL no thanks.

I also got offered 200 free intl texts for £150 per week from 81404.  Never subscribed to anything using my number.  someone has sold my number. Not happy.  went to their website and asked them to STOP ALL via their message service.  Let's see if it works.......

I received a text from the above number 81404 free message claim reward of 200 texts.
my Bill as gone up over £2. I am already on unlimited texts so I don't need the extra texts.
I have not used them or even activated it. Just wondering how to stop it appearing on my mobile.
and charging me for it.

I to recieved a text today 29/09/10 after a lot of digging the only email address i could get was support@smsunltd.com  where i sent an email asking them to sort it out otherwise what they are doing amounts to fraud and deception, which is a criminal offence and i wil report them to both trading standards and the police. The company that has used 81404 has already been find £50,000 i the pst for fraud etc. Hope this helps!!!!

went on smsunltd.com to unsubscribe text stop to 80160 message comes back saying taken of mailing list so that should stop £1.50 a week coming off my balance.

Bombard them with complaints

81404 has texted me twice now, offering either sexually explicit content for sending BABE to it or opting out by sending STOP. I sent STOP to it after the first text, but it sent me an identical text three days later. I have now blocked it, but it is unclear whether they will find a new way to contact me. Whoever is doing this is stealing innocent people's money and needs to face the consequences. If anyone knows/finds out who it is, report them to the police, as they are breaking the law.
