call hang up

I received 7 calls in 1 hour from 816-245-7661 and when I called back the next day from work to see who was calling I get a recording that states the number is not available at this time.  I never answer, but has a message each time that said what number to push if you wanted to accept, decline, or block call.   I pushed 9 to block the call but it continued during the evening.

The call is from the Jackson County Missouri Correctional Facility and is an inmate.  I feel it is worth the time and effort to go through the IVR to block the number and block calls from the facility.

I don't know anyone who might be in jail and don't know reason for this call.

Just got a call from this number.  Said it was an inmate from Jackson County Jail.  Could not here a name.  I don't accept calls from jail!  You want to talk to me?  STAY OUT OF JAIL!

I just had a message left on my phone that said "county jail" you could barly hear it. Glad to know it is a hoax and not anyone I know! lol

Female voice said: You have a call from ''unintelligible'' press 1 for yes, 2 for no.
THEN SHE SAID PRESS 2 TO HEAR THE CHARGES.  I PRESSED "2" THEN IT HUNG UP.

Someone just called me from this number. Can you tell me who that was?

Caller ID said Jackson Co Dtn but this is NOT the number for the Jackson County Detention Center.  There are hundreds of complaints about this number online.  I reported the number and suggest others do the same.  If you have the ability to block it, do so.

Called 11 times in less than 30 minutes, message is always to push 9 and then nothing.

This is the number that shows on your phone when an inmate at the Jackson County Detention Center calls you. Its not a hoax number but it could be a wrong number or as I found out, a relative who had just been arrested and I didn't know was in there.

Who telephoned me and why?

People on here are crazy. Yes it is Jackson County Detention Center. It's a phone in the cell, so of course it's not the number listed for Jackson County on Google. If you can't hear the name, I guess don't answer - but do know that the first call is complimentary even though it only lasts for about one minute. Then you get cut off and are able to put money in an acct to speak to that person for .10 a minute. Some people are here are real jerks, my friend got a DUI and needed help getting out. No big deal, people make mistakes. Some of you sound like really bad friends.
