Recieved a call from Affidavit Financial Services or something like that, earlier today from this guy who had a thick, heavy Indian accent named, John Smith. He stated, with a threat regarding, a a cash advance matter if not resolved personally, I would be taken to court for $585.00. He kept repeating the fact that the call was being recorded and was trying to confirm my SSN and phone number and address. I tried to look up the company over the internet and found a posting of a similar situation so I think it's a scam. Can anyone confirm?

Someone called by the name of Michael Stevens from Affidavit Consolidation Services and said they are putting out 3 charges agaist my social security number and I'm being investigated.

I don't know who these people are or even what loan they are talking about.

I called back and asked for a Michael Stevens. Supposedly his "supervisor" picked up and started being extremely rude and hanging up on me when I tried asking for their company information and website. He didn't know what to say to me so he started yelling at me and hung up!

Don't believe anything they say, under FDCPA, they cannot threaten to sue you, or investigate you unless they provide information on who they are, who they are representing and what they want.

I asked them to mail me everything they are talking about so I can verify the debt and he started screaming at me.

That's when I realized that this is a scam and hung up.

YA! I got several calls asking for $375.00 and I got as far as printing the pages to fax to them, when I noticed that the payoff slip didn' even list the creditor that ACS was representing. The two men who called were both of an Indian accent. One was named MIKE WILSON and the other was called BEN JOHNSON. I think they were the same guy. When I called him on it, he called me the STUPID ONE and that it was my PROBLEM that i couldn't retain the information. He hung up on me, and when I called back he TOLD ME TO GO TO HELL AND HUNG UP AGAIN. Please could someone do somthing about this. The phone numbers were 1-817-231-7416, just like all the rest of you who have been SCAMMED.

I just received a call from the same guy... Caller ID showed 052497347 on my cell and +52497347 on my work phone. He said that his client is pressing charges regarding a past due payday loan, and I would have the charges on my social security number (whatever that means). The call back number is 817-231-7416 - Jimmy Lazar.

I received a couple of calls today, one from a addy june saying that I was being sured by cash call and that they wanted to represent me. When I returned the call I asked to speak to that person and the guy asked my name he then started tell me all my info. SS, address and my bank. When I aked him for the number to the place in question (cash call) he started to get very mad and said I should have it and that I did have this loan and I did't pay it. The hole conversation got really bad and he hung up on me. I then calld cash call and they confirmed that I didn't. When I called them back and spoke to the same guy named Mike Wilson he was real nasty with me and hung up with me again.

Im having the same problem.They said they are gonna take me to court if I dont pay.What the heck is this crap about?

I have been receiving call from these people at work.  They will tell anybody that answers the phone that they have a lawsuit against my name.  People who are not allowed to know any of my personal business.  They will tell anybody anything.  I got a voicemail on my cell the number on my id showed up as +000000, saying that it's "Calvin from Affidavit Consoliation Services and they have three serious charges and lawsuit against my name that can't be discussed over vm" WHy not??? They tell my business to everybody at work!!  He ended the call saying "It is in my best interest to call him back to avoid a huge problem." I looked up the number he gave me to call him back on and it's a cell from Bronx. NY.....is this a scam???

I also just received a call from these people, I have no outstanding payday loans and he threatened me with a law suit,He gave his name as Ben Johnson, if he is a Ben Johnson, I'll eat my hat. He wanted my info and I told him he will need to bark up another tree, he started to shout and I hung up.
I have reported this to our Washington State Attorney General's Office.  The call back number is Texas, Houston Area but he is calling from some kind of call center that must be routed thru Texas.  His accent was definitely East Indian.

i have several messages on my phone from this817-231-7416 definatley an india indian. but he said his name is joeseph johnson, same b,s he said he will take me to court and call my work what the hell. how do these people get away with these scams. maybe i should start buying the east india times and start schamming back i meen what else can we do

I just one had call me and told him to stop calling me with their phony [***].  His response was that I was the one that was [***].  They've called me on and off for the past 5 months now.  It's starting to really tick me off.  I told him if he called me again with his scam that I'd "destroy" him...(that's the clean version) and he hung up on me.  I called back and went on a profanity laced tirade and they hung up again.  Screw these scam artists.

same people just called with the same numbers - Michael Stevens (indian totally)  I told him to call my attorney and he hung up.  If he calls again, I will have my attorney call him!

I had John Smith call me twice today, i'm on the verge of getting the OSI involved with these people. Would that be wrong?

I am getting the same type of call and everything is the same except my calls are coming from New York.  Some were from NYC and others from different cities in the state.  The person I spoke with is John Anderson.  Initially the call was showing up with an actual number now it is just 000000000.

Caller had an indian accent. He was very rude. I almost believed him because I do owe money to a payday loan company. But I googled his phone number and saw all the comments. I told him he was a scam and hung up. Thank you to all who commented. You saved me from paying him as I was so close...

Yep.  Mark Williams and his supervisor was Lisa Johnson--her phone number was (817) 231-7415, said they worked for an attorney named Julian Saunders out of Ft. Worth, TX. EXTREMELY rude, bullying, threatening to send "investigators" to my and my husband's work and just bad to deal with.  Ironically, I'm a federal investigator and my husband is a cop so I think that scared them.  I'm going to turn them into the State's Attorney General on Monday.

This is hardly a company, this is a Scam. Every call is different but the same. The name of the company changes and the names of the employees change; but the same scare tactics remain. They state that there are companies that are going to sue you and put you in jail. Then they try and squeeze you for information and get your banking information and take your money. I have done a little research and it seems that the group was operating out of California, but now they are in Tampa, Florida area. They have several cell phones with all different area codes and numbers. Every time you call one of them it is the same guy it seems. If you catch them unaware them you will get a woman who's name also changes frequently. Here are a list of "employees" and phone numbers that these scamers are using:

These numbers can be searched throughout the internet and it's all bad news. whocallsme.com is a good one, but there is many. I have tried to obtain a mailing address and they will not give. They are violating many rights of many people: old and young, rich and poor; but mostly the poor. I have been calling these numbers using *67 to protect myself and I have found it very enjoyable! If these guys have harassed you then try calling them (protecting your number), and if it is a girl ask for a guy and if it is a guy then ask for a girl. Try and get a mailing address - that's the golden ticket. Never give your real name or information, these guys are somewhat serious. Please help stop these guys.
