Got a call from this number on my cell last night and also said it was Fort Worth 911 and that they recieved a call from me.  Thought maybe I dialed it on accident but after checking realized I did not.

Same thing happened to me that happened to Susn above!  My call was @ 5:39 AM. Because the phone (Sprint) went into emergency mode, I couldn't get on the Internet. Did a battery pull & it reset everything. Strange!

The number (817) 924-7550 does belong to 911.

I work for a company where I operate a PBX phone system.  I placed a call on hold while I grabbed another call.  Once I finished one of the calls, I was getting ready to dial out when I was interrupted by a visitor at my desk.  I immediately hung up, but remembered dialing 9 + 1.  The visitor left my desk and I picked the call up that I had on hold.  A few minutes later, the phone started beeping in my ear because (817) 924-7550 was calling on the other line.  Instead of answering the call, I thought I would let it go to voicemail.  The caller did not a message.  Instead they called back a few minutes later.  I answered and they said they were 911.  They asked what my emergency was and asked me to verify my address.  I told them that I accidently dialed them.  After that, I went down to the PBX  in the computer room and printed a report that actually showed I had accidently dialed 911.

It seems highly unlikely that 911 just happened to randomly call everyone in the middle of the night. Sounds very suspicious to me. Why wouldn't they leave a message or try to call back?

It is fort worth 911. Your phone would have to have dialed 911 for us to call you back. However, we are human and can make mistakes dialing.

This number called me right away after I was trying to download a safety alarm app on my phone and I didn't know that it would dial 911 for me when I opened up the app.

I got the same call back from that number, but in this case it was legit. A woman was beat the hell out of and the dude was following her in his truck to the point of driving in the opposite way of traffic and risking everyone. But they are just too busy to or uninterested in these things. It happened on Lancaster Ave. the homeless boulevard, the police have a department 1 block away. By the 7/11.;..Any morning any day, police getting their gas and donuts. But real crime...PHHEEWWW, no thanks.

They called me claiming to be the fort Worth police dept and was calling me because I called them.  I did not call them but my phone history did show I called.  It was impossible so I have no idea if it's legit.  Weird...this all happened 3 minutes after I told a telemarketer to STOP calling my phone.  I think he had something to do with it.

This very same number called me several times last night & I know for a fact I didn't call 911. Checked my call log history & everything. Plus I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 5 with a fingerprint lock on it. So I would have had to been the person that called 911 & like I stated early I never called them
    • Caller: Not Sure, they wouldnt say anything
