Received call after posting my car on Craigslist. They are a service to help you in selling your car. Very nice until I said that I wasn't interested.

two calls in one day; no messages left.  But sure enough! I recently posted an auto for sale on craigslist.

I made the mistake of posting something to Craigslist and attaching a phone number for texting me while I was in town.  These clowns have called me 4 times now basically to offer to help me sell the boat. The first two times I told them not thank you and please do not call the number unless you are interested in buying the boat. The third time i cut them off very quickly and delivered the same message only without the cordiality.  This 4th time, i pretended to be an cranky old man who couldn't hear them very well.  They went so far as to say they have buyers who are interested. I told them they could send their buyers the link to the listing.  I also told them that they could buy the boat from me and then sell it to whomever they like once it is theirs.  I also told them all sorts of crazy stuff that one might hear from a crazy old man.  After trolling them for a while, i launched into a tirade of old-man geriatric profanity calling them names and telling them what they could to a male anatomy part (all in frail old man voice).  I've since removed the number from the listing.

I placed an ad on Autotrader to sell a car.The guy said they were a marketing company, never giving the name of the company.  As another person said, he claimed they had received a request for a "car very similar" to mine, then started asking me questions about the car, where I had placed my ad, and the responses I'd had.  After a couple of pointed questions, he finally said to get their help, a fee would be involved.   I told him I wasn't interested and he politely ended the conversation.  I heard a lot of conversation in the background, so am guessing it's another telemarketing sweat shop, with their callers selling ads on commission.

It's happened because of posting ad in Craiglist, I would like to say it's not only in Craiglist. I just post my ad in AutoTrader to sell my car a few days ago...
