Received a call from Alex Watson claiming to be from Department of Legal Affairs and Investigations. He indicated that I had taken out a cash advance loan and didn't pay it back. When I asked, what company, the amount and when this allegedly occured he refused to give me any information and advised that it would be on the paperwork when the sheriff came to arrest me at my job. He had me very shaken because I am not aware of any debt that hasn't been paid back. He is extremely rude and has a thick middle eastern accent.

Bye.- this is as transcribed by google voice, the middle eastern man said that he was from legal affairs and said that if my attorney or i did not respond that he wished me the best of luck but in his message he gave me no specific info and when i called back i received a full voice mail notification.

I got the same call for two days if you keep calling the number back you will get the same person. He will then claim to be a lawyer with legal documents he needs to fax. When I told him that he would not be able to fax them do to third party disclosure it and that if it is regarding a debt he must have the wrong Megan because I owe nothing to anyone and I monitor my credit daily, he said something I could not understand. When I explained to him that I work in debt collections and attending law school he hung up. Same guy he has now given me 5 different names. I explained to him that if he is going to call and bug me I can call him and bug him all day too. Whoever this MF is called my cell phone twice, i guess he couldnt hear me. So he called my job and left a msg with my office. Once i recieve the message and called him back, i called like 3 times and it was goin to voicemail sayin the voicmail is full. Then finally i got him and he said that he was calling on behalf of some payday loan, i owe x amount of money, the police will b at my job in the morning to arrest me and im goin to jail for 6mths, drivers license will be suspended, bank accounts will be frozen, passports frozen etc. I was really shaken up because i thought he was serious. I been on pins and needles all evening until i called a friend who is a bill collector, told me about this web site and i b damned!!!! Truly a scam and he got me....im tempted to get on a flight and go to cali to whoop his ass!

I have received four call from this same guy today and he left me four voice messages (two were blank and the other two voice mails were telling me that I must call back immediately and he claimed to be from the Department of Legal Affairs and Investigations. He indicated that I had taken out a cash advance loan and didn't pay it back and woe be on me for what was about to befall on me.  He said the sheriff would be coming by my office to arrest me.  This person has a very heavy middle eastern accent.

How can these people get away with this type of harrassment and scamming.

I jus got a call from that same num i called the attorney general and then found out who he was a mañ named thomas lyon from california whos a scammer.

HOLY SH_ _!!!!! this happened to me yesterday and ive been sick to my stomach all night!!! this is rediculous how these people continue to get away with this non-sense!!!!!!!  Im glad I found this site to see I am not the only one this happened to! I will be reporting it immediatly.

What should be done to make sure they arent messing with our  credit etc?

Crazy how these people get away with this CRAP!! I had the same thing happen and have been sick to stomach since yesterday since they told me a sheriff would be showing up at my work this morning!! uggghhhhhh!!!!

I just received this EXACT call from a guy with a thick accent telling me he needed my attorneys information for a lawsuit that I was being sued for a debt.  He didnt tell me what but told me I would get a call from his supervisor ALEX Watson.  the number he called from is 818-337-3047.  IT IS A SCAM.  BEWARE

4 calls this am. These guys are in India. They are a SCAM! Just blast a horn in there ear blow out a ear drum or two and they will stop calling!!!!

i've been harassing them non stop now for about an hour after they initially called me. spooked me for about 2 mins and i did some googling and found this. they know its me when i call now and have all my info.., my ssn, home address, place of work, phone numbers, etc.. im guessing its from a small loan i applied for but declined a few months ago. gotta be careful with that stuff.. im uncomfortable with my info out there, it was probably sold to these scammers or they are affiliated with some loan agency. [***]. wish i could do something.

This guy is a jerk!!  He called and told me the same thing...he even called my employer and cursed at her.  I reported him to police!!!  I think it is pretty crappy that he is trying to scare people into giving him money!  Just as an FYI, I contacted the state attorney as well and was told that even if you had a payday loan outstanding it is a civil matter and you are not arrested for such things.  The most that can be done to you for civil matters is that you can be taken to civil court and ordered payments by a judge!  I hope this guy gets what is coming to him because Karma is a you know what!!!  DO NOT GIVE THIS MAN OR HIS "FIRM" A PENNY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They called me few min ago I told my name and asked the name of the company they clamed up the more??s I asked a lady got erratic and hung up

Yeah, that is what they did when my aunt started telling them that they were full of crap.  They told her she was not allowed to call that number anymore!!  I wish I could get my hands on them!!  I currently trying to get my money back!  I feel so STUPID, but they said jail and I freaked.  The problem is I did have a payday loan a year ago but I thought it was cleared up so it scared me when I found out different.  Once I came up with the money he was talking about he all of the sudden need $3000 more, I was like no way buddy something is up!!!
