Feel this is a scam. Saying they were with Asheville with Asheville NC fire department and were fund raising money for a burn victim house in black mountain. The deal was to send me tickets to a concert and to send it back with 26 dollars so a burn victim could go. I said I would come by and they said no by mail was best. They knew my name and address...all except the apartment unit # which a fire department record should have this. I called the z# back and it said had been disconnected.
The guys name used was David.

Received call stating David Penley from Asheville NC Fire Dept. & I had won grand prize of 12 Dalmation puppies! I immediately hung up. I never entered any drawings w/ Asheville Fire Dept. If it was David Penley & he is the one I know of, this is definitely a scam.

Definitely sounds like a scam.  Caller pushes hard to have a check mailed out to him for the Firefighter's Association.  Checked the purported concert location, and there is no such benefit.  Screen this guy out.

Received a call from "David with the Asheville Firefighters Association."  There was a terrible connection which was lost before he completed his purpose for calling. When I attempted to call the number back, it said the number had been disconnected or no longer in service. I believe this to be some form of scam.  

Called twice in 3 hours.  Did not answer either time.  After checking the comments on this site I have added number to my call blocker! Thanks....

called saying they were with Asheville fire dept and holding a concert featuring Eddie Money and ticket purchase money would go for burn victims..I got this same phone call not long ago and called the Asheville Fire Dept and they knew nothing about it...SCAM...SCAM...SCAM

I got a call from this number . Sometimes the number says unavailable. When I call back a recording says the number is out of service.

Called 2x in one hour and identified himself as Clint with the Asheville Firefighters Association.  Wanted us to send money.  We did this two years in a row and now I find this is a scam.

Ashamed to say they "got us" two years in a row.  I just now find out this is a scam.  Clint called tonight saying he is with the Asheville Firefighters Assoc. and wanted us to buy tickets again.  We did not do it this time....I got suspicious when I tried to call the number back and it said it was no longer in service and had been disconnected.

828-407-4036 just called again.  Calls every few days but never leaves a message.  I forgot, but this is definitely a scam claiming to be Asheville Fire selling tickets to a concert for burn victims.  They got us two years in a row, however I just now blocked their number.  Last year the guy was incredibly rude when he knew I wasn't taking the bait.  Annoying.

I got the call today from 828-407-4043. I pledged to buy 2 tickets to Jefferson Starship concert at civic center in
Asheville, NC on April 9, 2016.
They will mail tickets with return envelope for my check. He said I can use credit card.

Previous posts look a bit off-putting.    Have you done business before with any promoter willing to send tickets "in the mail" then sit back and wait for the check to arrive?

Got a call from the same person, David, from the Asheville Fire dept. Hung up before he finished the speech but still scamming away.

Got a call from a guy named Clarence Bentley.  He is raising money for the Asheville Fire Department.  It sounded like a scam and apparently it is....

I have supported the Asheville Firefighters  Assoc. every year for many years. There is a legitimate concert every year that tickets are sold for as we have attended a concert at the Asheville Civic Center with tickets purchased from the caller. I'm not sure if it is the same exact phone number. I would hate to see a legitimate fund raiser lose out on supporters because of some horrible scammers. Please check with your local people first before totally giving up on support.

Got a call from Elliott from the Asheville fire department wanting money. I feel like it is a scam. The guy was rude as well

Called and said call back and ask for nurse.  Didn't even identify themsevles.
