I'm getting call about the same time every night from the same #.
Called it back... recording says it  a generic voice over IP #.

search says this is not a valid phone # but its in Kerrville Texas

I spoke to a guy.  He said he was calling from Microsoft and wanted to know if I was having problems.  I told him I had a Macbook and he hung up on me.

I have been called at least 3 times in  the last week from this number. 12-20-11, 11:45am; 12-26-11, 8:37pm; and 12-27-11, 8:24pm. When I call the number, I am told this is a VoiP number and it is impossible to tell who it is from. I believe I have been called more than three times, but my caller ID memory on my phone does not go back any further at this time.  I have called the phone company, they referred me to the Texas Attorney General's office. When I finally talked to someone at the Public Utilities Commission, I was told they either could not, or would not, help me unless I was able to report what the call was about. And if they don't reveal who they are, and don't talk on the answering machine, or don't answer when you pick up the phone, how are you to determine what the call is about?

That leaves me to come to the conclusion that they are placing harassing calls to my residence. I hear it is a number in Kerrville, TX. I am not sure. Others say other things.

I have also heard that this number is used for dunning customers. Maybe they feel that they can call anyone they want and act like a bill collector and the people will send them money, thinking they are paying off a debt collector, when in reality, they may be participating in a scam to separate them from their money.  

I received calls from another number several years ago, with the same story line. Wouldn't answer when you called back. Wouldn't leave a message. Wouldn't talk when you answered the phone.

But getting the PUC or the Attorney General's office to do anything is like pulling teeth from an alligator.

To me, this is harassment pure and simple.

Keep calling hanging up every few days? Who  why??

I receive calls from this number on a regular basis and no one ever says anything and then hangs up. It's very annoying and I would like it to stop!

They called me today talking about microsoft and I had several virus on my computer. I hung up right away. This is some type of scam.

This is North Star Collection agency. They call everyday with a computer. They say this call is for --------------if you are not this person hang up. If you listen to the call it says you acknowledge you are that person ---------------and this is a debt collector and by listening to call you show you received the call. They change phone numbers. Other numbers are:  888-820-0963, 866-677-2587, 866-820-0832. They have been calling for two months and they have the wrong number................but they wont quit............

The only reason I know about this number is because I put it on my call blocker after the first call. The call blocker logs numbers when they call, so I know they call every day. The great thing is: if the call is being blocked, it goes straight to the memory hole without ringing. I just check the log now and then to gloat. THIS PHONE NUMBER (830-890-0924) ALONG WITH ANOTHER NUMBER FROM SALT LAKE CITY (801-783-3233) HAS BEEN CALLING US ABOUT A PAYDAY LOAN?? THESE DIFFERENT NUMBERS LEAD TO THE SAME ARABIC GUY! BIG FLAG FOR A FRAUD!! AFTER TELLING THEM WE ARE NOT INTERESTED THEY KEEP CALLING!! ITS AN ARABIC DUDE THAT DOESN'T GIVE UP. I HAD AN ARGUMENT WITH HIM TELLING HIM I DON'T THINK THIS IS A LEGITIMATE BUSINESS AND HE YELLED AT ME SAYING WHY AM I WASTING HIS TIME?  THIS IS ABSOLUTELY A FRAUD! HE SAID WE GOT APPROVED FOR A LOAN FOR $2500 AND WE WOULD NEED TO PAY A DEPOSIT OF $150 TO GET IT. AFTER I SAID NO THANKS! HE SAID WE WOULD BE CHARGED A CANCELLATION FEE FOR $250.HE SAID HE HAD OUR BANK INFORMATION AND THEY WOULD BE TAKING THE FEE OUT OF IT. I TOLD HIM IT IS ILLEGAL FOR HIM TO WITHDRAWL ANYTHING FROM OUR ACCOUNT WITHOUT OUR AUTHORIZATION!! I ENDED UP HANGING UP ON HIM AND ANOTHER ARABIC LADY CALLED. I TOLD HER AGAIN WE ARE NOT INTERESTED!! THEN HAD TO BLOCK THE NUMBER FROM OUR PHONE SERVICE PROVIDER. FYI THERE IS A NUMBER YOU CAN CALL TO BLOCK TELEMARKETERS AT 888-382-1222.

I have been receiving calls from this # for several months.  Today I answered the call, they claim there is a complaint against me and if I don't take action TODAY, I will end up in court.  I told them that I did not believe them because I have received these calls for months and let the complaint go to court.  I don't even know what they are talking about.  I have NO "complaints" against me!  She insisted I write down the number and call TODAY.  Of course the threat was if I don't resolve it today, the people who have the complaint against me will take me to court.  I just hung up before taking the number down.

I got a call and the person had east Indian accent and asked a few questions about home improvement plans and said I won a free home improvement and he would have contractors call tomorrow. I contacted the local authorities and welcomed them to come over in the event someone actually comes over. The funny thing is the police say they get the same calls and most originate from africa or other countries and the numbers are masked through servers to appear local. The police said the scams most often involve trying to get your social security number or a money gram
