This number has contacted not only me but other family members claiming that they are a company called Stark Recovery. They claim they are a debt collector trying to obtain a debt for a "client". The debt in question is bogus. I don't know how they got certain information (such as social security number and family member telephone numbers) and when I asked for written validation of the so-called debt, they refused to send out anything and proceeded to threaten to take legal action against me. I have been contacted by these people under 5 different phone numbers. I (with the help of my son and his best friend) have discovered that Stark Recovery is a scam and that the FBI is aware of this said company and is investigating them. DO NOT BELIEVE WHAT THEY TELL YOU!! DOCUMENT EVERY NUMBER THEY CALL YOU FROM AND REPORT THEM TO LAW ENFORCEMENT, BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU OR NEAREST FBI BRANCH!!

I've reported 4 of the 5 numbers that have continually harassed my family and I. The numbers are: 844-215-7133, 844-250-8715, 844-240-0729, and this number, 844-236-6552. Please tell everyone you know that this is a new scam going around. They claim you defaulted on a payday loan and refuse to provide any written verification of the debt. They call themselves "Stark Recovery" but the caller ID comes up "Unknown Name".

I just got a call from this number saying its a loan creditor saying I owe them 2750 for a loan I never even took out! When I asked for something in writing they couldn't give it to me or the lady wouldn't give me anyone else to talk to.

Last night I got a call but left a voice message on my phone saying there is a claim in their office and left a claims number also. And for me to call this number back 844-236-6552. I do have a claim going in the death of my little yorkie. I did not call them back as was afraid it was a scam. Sure sounds like it.

Geraldine. Couple years ago I to was getting calls from scammers. I told my work what was going on and that I contacted the federal trade commisioner and that my work was to tell them I no longer was working there. And if they keep calling that chargers would be filed on them. It did work so I hope it does for you also

I have been getting a call from this number at the same time of day for the last three days. They leave this number to call and a claim number. Thank you to everyone else who has taken the time to post about these scammers. Hard to decide if I want to keep ignoring them or if I want to put in ear plugs, answer the phone and then use a marine air horn as soon as a I can get a live human on the line :)

I just received a call from 844-236-6552 claiming i'm delinquent on a loan if it goes to litigation it will cost 2000.00 or i can give them $700.00 to settle the matter It's a scam.

Just got my second call from this company.  They had my whole SS# and wouldn't tell me anything unless I confirmed my number.  Told her I wasn't going to do that until they told me what this was about and she told me to have nice day!  I work in a police station and reported it!!

These people called and told me I have a claim against me and threatened legal action over a loan that was paid and I know this because my account is now in the negative because the check went through!! So I did what I always do and Googled the number and found this and many more just like it so I called them back and told them I looked them up and see they have an FBI case pending and I have call recorder on my phone so that every call is recorded because of people like them and if I get any more calls I will be taking them to court and suing them for harassment!! Idk why these people assume everyone is an idiot....the only loan I had was paid so you must be full of s#&t!!!

These people called while I was at work,during my commute home,during the day at my mother's house. They said I owed them $700.00 for a payday loan. I never in my life gotten a payday loan. They threatened to sue me and charge me $2000.00 if I didn't give them a payment over the phone. It was really upsetting!!!Don't verify any information or give them any money. IT S A SCAM!!!! It s a shame that these people prey on hardworking,honest people. I am reporting them to every agency I can,starting with this post.

This number called and stated they had a claim against me and left a claim # and to return the call.

got a call today from these folks claiming I had a pay day loan for $450 in 2013 -- never have I ever taken out a pay day loan!  They threatened me with a lawsuit and told me I needed to remit $750 today!  They need to be reported to the FBI.

these people call themselves stark recovery.  they are actually Ashton Assets from Westmont Ill.  They have made a mistake of contacting me over 600 times in the last year.  I'm a retired phone tech and still have friends in telco.  I'm going to share all the info we've gathered on this family run "business"
