Someone claimed to be from CRA (Canada's Taxation branch) left this number with a voice mail for you to call back on important tax matters/owning. When you call, you're threaten with law suites from CRA for tax owning.
Besides your address and phone number, they wanted your name (to put on file, right!), don't give away any information.
They will tell you your officer will call to arrange to resolve the matter/owning.
Someone will call next, will ask you for lots of personal details (as if the Government does not know already), better hang up, don't give away anything.
If you're pressed, ask to meet them at one of your local government office (get THEIR details) - your line will disconnect "automatically/magically".

This 844 number is not listed under any of the CRA directories.

Thanks John, I just got a message from them and called them back. When I asked the guy what company he was calling from, he said CRA and when I told him that I don't owe any back taxes, he promptly hung up. This is fraud!!!

Legitimate entities would conduct proper process despite challenging questions.

I got this message yesterday.  When I called the number back the guy was very abusive.  I said "I got this funny phone message ...."  He said "Oh, you think this is funny.  Let's see how funny you think it is when we put you behind bars".  I called CRA and they said that this scam has been going on since June.  They try to intimidate you so you do something that you would never usually do, like give them information or money.  CRA also confirmed that no one from CRA had phoned me and I don't owe any money.  So if you get this call, just hang up and don't worry about it.  If you do worry, you can call CRA and they will confirm that no one from there called you.  They keep changing their number, so be aware of other numbers too.
